Over the slightly shorter distance I think he has more of a kick in the last 100. He’s shown he can hang with Jacob. Even if Jacob pushes the pace, Kerr will be on his shoulder.
I will admit that Jakob was clearly beat and I don't think he could've won, at all... But it almost looked like he didn't even try to win the last 100m? He never moved wide, at all, and looked calm and content (double thumbs up) getting 2nd. Again, don't think he could've won, but it almost looked like he wanted to use Kerr (or anyone) to time trial this/break the wind?
(Third time disclaimer: I don't think he could've won today)
Coming off and Achilles injury. For sure can impact change of gears in the final straight or desire to try it now. 3:45 as your first race in months, after coming off your wedding? No reason for Jakob or his fans to panic. Regardless, Kerr is a formidable and worthy opponent and it will be epic. NOBODY else has a chance barring something crazy or injury. Lots of good guys going for 3rd.
This is it. Nuguse half a second back, Gourley and Wightman 1.5 seconds back. There's a Big Two right now and I just hope they both get to Paris fully fit because it will be one for the ages.
Jakob telling norwegian television he is VERY satisfied with this run. Despite a troubling winter, he is running as good as this. Knows that this is the starting point, he will only be better looking forward. But says it nice that Kerr is being offensive also on the track, after talking like ha has, to the press lately. Says summer is gonna be exciting
I didn’t expect Jakob to win today. 2nd in that time exceeded my expectations. Kerr looked really really strong though. Lots of people in the race and its a shame Hobbs was tripped up.
The abrupt ending of the broadcast was pretty disappointing. No post race from any of the milers.
also noticed that Josh kind of made an effort to congratulate most finishers other than Jakob. He makes a good villain. The saga continues.
J. says to Norwegian TV that he feels like he expected, but ran faster than he expected. No guarantees but thinks he will increase his form throughout the season.
Garcia not quite as competitive as we've seen him in the past. Decent time for sure, and not completely off, but also not really in the mix. He's been looking like something is just a little wrong this season.

And he looked it. Ran a warm down lap with a smile, interacted with fans, signed autographs. His body language wasn’t anything but positive so I believe all of that. And again 3.45 off an injured off-season, I can’t believe people are calling Paris now. I will also agree with some of the posts here that said he didn’t look like he was absolutely turning the screws on himself in the final 100. I don’t know what else to say, it was the way it looked.

Kerr shook Jakob’s hand after the race. It may have been perfunctory but he did it.

He *never* looks like he’s turning the screw in the last 100.
Would have been nice to see what Teare and Kessler could have done, but probably in 3:49-50 range to be realistic. In the hunt for the team, but not for a top 6-finish in Paris.
I'm surprised by these fast times, I know that Jakob has said he has lowered the mileage slightly but how are these guys capable of running 3:45-3:47 off of just base training. Could Kerr and Jakob get in WR shape by the end of the season?
