Yeah. I think Sisson still had more to give and is probably the brightest star we have. Sarah needs another coach but she may be at the end of her flame. Bates was crazy impressive. That girl may continue to shock us all.
Could anybody have run with benson? 14.05 between 35 and 40. Pales into insignificance what kipchoge did the last two Olympics

Just noticed Jenny Hitchings apparently just threw down a 2:45 - at age 58, 6:19 average pace
I wonder if she could be the first woman to OTQ at 60, depends what the standard is at in a couple years.
unbelievable that someone that age can do the training required to run that fast and not get hurt in the process
Nobody started the Boston Marathon wearing masks. They just had them on on the bus to starting line and then when approaching the start line (based on what we now know about Covid this is overkill to wear them outside approaching the starting line imo but what's the big deal? it's awesome they got to race)

Even with the super-shoes, it looks like Deena K's record is safe for a long while to come.
If Sara Hall has finally started to decline, it's hard to see any US woman threatening 2:20 for the foreseeable future.
Emily Sisson.
Yeah, I guess Sisson, Seidel, and Bates are all conceivable, but none of them have gotten close yet.

Would love to see Molly Seidel run a 2:24 at a major 'thon in good weather. That would give us a boost.

Why cant they run the wheelchairs a few hrs later, so they can do their entire coverage.
People want to watch marathons to see RUNNERS.
Its annoying to break to see wheelchairs. Do it on their own time later. The reality is they wont get viewers, so now they have to annoy the rest of us.
This is a lose-lose for everyone.
If the wheelchairs start a few hours later, Marcel Hug will be finishing 3-4 hours after the runners started.
Do you have any idea how congested the course is where the 3-4 hour runners are running? Imagine Hug going through that traffic with his wheelchair.

Sisson and Bates aren't getting anywhere near 2:20. Hard to say about Seidel. She ran well in awful conditions and coming off a short build in London, the only flat marathon she's done. Her HM isn't fast, certainly nothing to indicate she can ever run 2:19. She strikes me as someone who can suffer better than others so her best results will always be on slow, thought courses. She could be a New York legend by the end of her career
