J R Biden faces, Perfect Storm, 2024 election. This election season reminds me of 1980 election season. James Carter was in office. Carter faced a primary challenge from T Kennedy. In the election, John B Anderson received over 6% of vote. T Kennedy softened up Carter then Anderson's greater than 6% caused Carter to get destroyed in election, 1980.
R.F.K. Jr. will soften up Biden. Cornel West will get his share.
Biden believes if he gives x number of African-Americans with college degrees enough federal government jobs that is all it takes to win in November. Many African-Americans are anti-war. C West is going to damage Biden, election day.
I’m a never Trumper and I dislike DeSantis even more, if that’s even possible, but I’ve decided that I will not vote for Biden (and Kamala). if it is Trump v Biden, or DeSantis v Biden, then I will abstain. I just can’t take a positive step to keep a doddering idiot in the White House.

The French piece is interesting to read, but unfortunately, it still doesn’t really explain anything to me. You’ve been convinced that the left is horrible, and it’s us versus them. Got it. That’s obviously simplistic and bad and unhealthy for a country. But it still doesn’t explain why those people would INSIST on their leader against the left being Trump. A person, even viewed through a Fox lens, who’s clearly amoral, unethical, unlawful, and unqualified to be president. Even through Fox lenses for both issues, his character is more clearly atrocious than the left’s threat to your country and lifestyle. And yet you INSIST on him being your leader. Still makes no sense to me.
It seems that the only way to make it make sense is to assume the following:
1) Something approaching half of America hates what they view as “liberal” A LOT.
2) Many principles and values that they claim to hold dearly (honesty, decency, lawfulness, democracy, etc.) they simply don’t. It’s just pure bulls**t for some of them. And WAY less important than they claim them to be for the rest.
"Honesty" and "decency" are traits of weakness. Trumpers don't want a weak leader. They want a tough fighter. And Trump does things they wish they could do but cannot in real life. (Like insulting minorities and LGBTQ people.) So they get catharsis from seeing that. DeSantis cannot replace him because he is too polished.

Yes, that is true of many Trump supporters and voters. But not nearly all of them. Tons of both groups aren’t the worst of the Trump rally belligerent white trash that your reply brings to mind. And yet there they are - notably more refined (apparently) Americans still supporting him, or at least voting for him.

Put another way, yes, there is a fraction who would respond, “FU** honesty and decency!! We want Trump to kick lib ass!!”
But more, I believe, still pretend to value (or greatly value) honesty and decency (and probably largely practice it, day to day), and yet are still sitting on his side after all they’ve seen.
They may look "refined." And they may be even "friendly" to people who do not threaten their values. Trumpers are like teenagers who are nice and friendly to each other, but still make fun of "others." The "refined" people are those teens who don't participate in bullying themselves, but still enjoy seeing the "out" groups being bullied.
For me, the following summarizes the essence of Trumpers.
The battle and the booze cruise both give MA'GA devotees a sense of belonging. They see a country that’s changing around them and they are uncertain about their place in it. But they know they have a place at a Trump rally, surrounded by others — overwhelmingly white, many evangelical — who feel the same way they do.

A lot of people are just extremely ignorant (not dumb, just unaware) and they are easily led to believe all kinds of things. Like they have convinced themselves that Trump isn’t racist, and is just a hard working person who became a billionaire on his own and wants to stick it to the liberal elites and back the hard working Americans of middle America. They have convinced themselves that the liberal coastal elites and mainstream media can’t be trusted at all. Most of them are not actual bigots, they just feel that the Democratic Party hasn’t done much to help the working class especially those in middle America. Plus Trump is way more entertaining than DeSantis. Could you imagine wanting to follow DeSantis around and listen to him drone on with his expressionless face?

Speaking in generalizations there are a few categories of Trumpers.
1. the flat out POS type that love Trump because he made it OK to not need to hide their racism, bigotry and xenophobia. I was behind a doordash driver less than an hour ago with a huge sticker on his back window that spelled out FU** YOU BIDEN AND FU** you to all that voted for him. He was driving a POS CAR with other bumper stickers that said F you if you think my muffler is too loud. This for all to see including young children. i guess the Brandon stuff was no longer good for him. (You get the picture of this type)
2. Shamefully wealthy business owners, billionaires, white collar grifters that know Trump is an idiot but also know they will take care of them financially if they grease the family with support. Essentially people that have recognized ways to grift with Trump's help.
3. Grandma and Grandpa at the Villages that have always voted GOP and take their marching orders from Fox news and truly believe everything they tell them to belief. These are the most innocent of all Trumpers. They go to church and think God is telling them that Trump is anointed because Pastor says so.
Most of the Letsrun Trumpers I think are category 1.

And shame on the DNC for putting him forth.
we all need to grow up and make a decision. It's binary. That's how this works. The nation is thriving under biden and the WH is utterly corruption-free. If you feel the way about trump as you say, you should vote for Biden. The nation is fine under Biden and will stay so. Our economy is growing faster than any other G7 nation and has the lowest inflation of any of them also.
The nation under trump was not ok and it will not be ok if reelected. He is twice-impeached, twice-indicted and is promising to destroy the nation's institutions if reelected.

And from a common sense standpoint, I believe this lacks legal merit. Everyone is entitled to their opinion and every individual (guilty or otherwise) is entitled to a defense. There were instances of voting fraud (nobody disputes this), the only question is the extent to which that fraud took place. That is debatable. If an individual hires an attorney and asks to plead not guilty, then the attorney has an obligation to mount a defense for that individual. That is not illegal.
Lawyers are not allowed to lie in court.
lawyers are not allowed to bring frivolous lawsuits.
lawyers are officers of the court. They are responsible to help the legal system run smoothly and within the rules.
giuliani Broke all these rules and deserves to be disbarred. Many other trump lawyers were also disciplined for the same things.
you lack a basic understanding of the legal system.
Provide evidence of him lying under oath (that’s what got Clinton disbarred).
Agip - point blank question back at you - Was Karine Jean=Pierre lying when she said the Bidens were not at the White House when the cocaine was found?
I dunno Sally. I don't read the same right wing clickbait garbage you do so I guess I'm not aware of this particular issue. If you show me a lie I will look into it but I'm not going to poke around your dark world to try to find it.
