It means that when it comes to executive privilege, only the sitting president can make that determination, thus the Biden White House was the only entity that could authorize the raid on Mar-A-Lago and then lied about their involvement:
note that this article says nothing about the raid being authorized by biden or establishes any kind of lie from the Biden WH.
Joe be better. Stop the misinformation.
This. The right is trying their best to spin this as Biden's personal directed prosecution of his political opponent. Because he is skeered of Trump! It is so hilarious and obvious that they are carrying Trumps water on that one. Trump telegraphed that defense way back when he announced himself as a candidate and knew Law had plenty on him.
Executive Privilege has been a knee jerk defense that Trump has used hundreds of times. Literally just about every single legal issue that he finds himself in he tries executive privilege. It is always step #1 of his legal team. It has been laughed out of court too many times to count. IN this instance, true to form Trump tried to do it again. Legal counsel asked the WH to weigh in on Trump's documents and they deferred back to their legal expertise.
So how does the right spin this...? Of course, Joe Biden signed off on it.
So lame that they keep supporting this traitorous criminal that has and continues to do damage to the country and it's national security.
This one is truly horrible. All these right wing guys murdering innocents. Over and over and over and over and over.
Jury in Pittsburgh Synagogue Shooting trial has ruled Robert Bowers guilty on all 63 counts, including several hate crime charges.
In case you 'conservatives' forgot that he is a right winger:
According to accounts which were given by Bowers' coworkers from 20 years ago, and analysis of his recent social media posts, his conservatism became radicalized as white nationalism; at one point Bowers was fascinated by the right-wing radio host Jim Quinn.[62] At a later time he became a follower of "aggressive online provocateurs of the right wing's fringe."[63] He was deeply involved in posting comments on social media websites such as Gab and he also promoted antisemitic conspiracy theories on them.[64] Gab has been described as "extremist friendly"[65] to neo-Nazis, white supremacists, and the alt-right.[65] Bowers registered his Gab profile in January 2018 under the handle "onedingo"; he described his account by the following: "Jews are the children of Satan (John 8:44). The Lord Jesus Christ [has] come in the flesh." The cover picture was a photo with the number 1488, which is used by neo-Nazis]/b] and white supremacists to evoke David Lane's "Fourteen Words" and the [b]Nazi slogan Heil Hitler. Bowers published posts that supported the white genocide conspiracy theory, such as one that said, "Daily Reminder: Diversity means chasing down the last white person".[66]

Biden is doing nothing. The people who placed him in the White House will do anything to prevent Trump from running. Two impeachments over nothing and now indictment after indictment.

Have a seat on the couch over there. Now tell me. Are these “people” in the room with us now?
Dems are absolutely terrified of Donald Trump (who I wish would just go away) running again and winning the presidency again. He just might be a two-term president. Would love to see you guys melt down if that happened.
'The View' co-host suggested the Constitution should be amended to prevent Donald Trump from running for president if he is sent to jail on charges stemming from his retention of classified materials.

If Trump is convicted in this show trial and continues his campaign, he will be the second candidate to run for president from prison. Socialist Eugene V. Debs ran for president as Convict No. 9653 in 1920 after being convicted of the Sedition Act of 1918 for his opposition to US involvement in WWI. Ironic that Trump would be imprisoned for keeping a document that he held on to as proof of his unwillingness to start WWIII over a hundred years later. The Military Industrial Complex hates a pacifist.

The Sedition Act of 1918 (Pub. L. 65–150, 40 Stat. 553, enacted May 16, 1918) was an Act of the United States Congress that extended the Espionage Act of 1917 to cover a broader range of offenses, notably speech and the expre...
Gee, "thanks" for the unnecessary and condescending-sounding "lesson," agip.
Of course, you also could have simply said, "He says what the deplorables want to hear, and they support and vote for him."
And the more I think about it, the more I wonder if - semantic squabbles aside - the word "gifted" really applies? Is it possible that Trump does not have "special gifts" of any kind and that rather it's just a perfect storm? Perhaps he's JUST a disgusting, unfiltered, blowhard rich guy lie factory who decided to get into politics at a time when he'd have a large receptive audience? (although, admittedly, this may have been true at ALL times in US history)
Maybe he's not particularly "gifted," maybe he just happens to be the first example of someone that gross and frank being willing to run for office? And it worked. But that's not to say that it wouldn't have worked at many other times in our history, and thus he doesn't get "credit" for "good timing," or other such senses of awareness and skill with which you're inclined to compliment him.
I condescend therefore I am. sorry if I got the tone wrong but I don’t think I’m wrong.
Interesting question if trump would have been success at another time. I think so. He has thrived in America for 50 years of changing spirits and economy conditions. He knows how to sell. His message might have been different at a different time but he would have had success.
with one caveat…he came at a time when the parties lost their power to filter out the evil ones. He would have been canned by them in some periods before doing much damage.
Does he know how to sell? Why all the bankruptcies? Why the inability to parlay daddy's money into MORE money? Why the apparent inability to make money (and lose it) WITHOUT the tax crimes and stiffing contractors and deceiving customers (Trump U., etc.) etc., etc.?
Since I first realized how dumb and ignorant he was in his first presidential campaign, I think that Donald Trump is (somewhat fascinating) proof that, if you start out with enough money, have a decent work ethic, are greedy, and are ruthless, you can make a lot of money. Being smart or well-educated or actually possessing self-control are NOT necessary. Who the hell knew?

Yeah, it's that doggone military industrial complex!

I don't know if they lied about it, and I'm certainly not inclined to believe Fox News about it. I hope they didn't (i.e., say that Biden had NO knowledge, if he did), and if they did, they should be called out and judged for it.
But misleading or lying about ZERO involvement - because he signed some document essentially saying, "OK, go ahead, I trust you to proceed" - is absolutely NOT the same thing as inappropriately influencing an investigation. To my knowledge, there is zero evidence of that. If there is, provide it.
And as mentioned previously, WHY WOULD Biden have to influence investigations into a guy who takes joy in flaunting the law, regulations, policies, norms, etc.? He wouldn't. In this case: "Boss, Trump's got a lot of stuff that he's not supposed to have. We've coddled him for a year or two like NO OTHER American would be in this situation and he's still giving us the finger. Can we go get the stuff? Yes? Thanks."
And this is why, f**** up jury aside (always a threat, see OJ), he's going to be found guilty of a lot of bad things in that case..
I condescend therefore I am. sorry if I got the tone wrong but I don’t think I’m wrong.

I'm a salesman. I've sold all my life. I recognize greatness in DJT. He moves the merchandise. He is able to convince people they NEED to have what he is selling. Best I've ever seen.

LOl! Trump is not Edward Snowden! If Trump wanted to expose The Military Industrial Complex's desire to start WWIII, he could have, ya know, leaked the documents to Glenn Greenwald, instead of keeping documents in his bathroom, ballroom (were any in a billiard room, library, study, hall or lounge? lol) Trump is just a narcissistic lying moron who wanted documents because he is a petulant child who didn't want to return material that he never should have taken in the first place. The idea that he is some sort of pacifist, who holds any sort of moral compass, or even a political philosophy aside from wanting power, attention and money, is comical.

But you haven't answered. Why the multiple failures? Why the need to cheat to succeed?
I mean, I guess that he could still be "better than average." But how could he be "great" when there are so many who did as well, or better, without huge cheating? Wouldn't those people be the "great" ones?
I defer somewhat to your sales expertise, but is it possible that you're mixing up, at least somewhat, sales ability and self-promotion ability?

he's a great salesman. He's not nearly as good at managing businesses or people.
He's probably not bad at mgmnt...he is a billionaire after all. He's a great salesman and a below-average business manager. Or mMaybe we can guess that he's only survived his poor management skills because of the stealing and cheating. Anyone who follows laws and rules would have blown up long ago.

Joe be better. Stop the misinformation.
Misinformation is what he does. It is the core of his being.
If he stops the misinformation he will cease to exist. If he "bes better" he will accelerate his misinformation efforts.
You are asking joe to do two mutually exclusive things.
It’s not misinformation, it’s a legal requirement. The DOJ cannot make a determination on executive privilege on its own. That authorization rests solely with the sitting president.

you write as if no other matter but 'executive privilege' is at play here. There are multiple other issues, all serious and vital to national security.
A federal judge in New York scheduled writer E. Jean Carroll’s remaining defamation lawsuit against former president Donald Trump for trial in January, adding onto the long list of legal perils the 2024 candidate is facing in the election year.
A babbling President Joe Biden gave a speech Friday where he joked about being 110, told the crowd 'God save the queen' and deployed some of his greatest hits.
