Those singlets all look the same. I expected somebody to be in a different color.

Hahahahaha this huge thread and 1 person had a uniform only slightly different than the others. GET A LIFE PLEASE
I find it surprising that a team which sells its logo far and wide plastered on the front of singlets and other clothing doesn't race in singlets plastered with that logo. I'm guessing, though, that their main racing singlet design was chosen to match the basic adidas singlet design, worn by any adidas athlete in competitions, even though Tinman and adidas are not a 100% match. The singlet changes by the year, maybe in part so that the year of the photo can be known simply by identifying the design/color of the singlet.
One of my pet peeves with races such as in Diamond League track competitions is that there can be a pack of five wearing almost-identical uniforms, yet they are not on the same team. It's sponsor-driven. Too many identically-dressed runners. Look at the starting line of the men's 1500 at the London Diamond League meet this past summer:

I didn't know Chris O'Hare and Nick Willis ran for Tinman Elite! Never mind, the white singlet design is adidas-related.
Could you talk more about what kind of socks they were wearing
I'm really interested in socks. What about ankle bracelets? Did anyone have any inappropriate tattoos. There's a lots more Avenues of nonsense why limit yourself
I thought there would be some meat to this. It seems that mostly they just didn't have logos. Which is a bummer but not anything actually.
In Bend I recall overhearing some grumbling about the Beasts uniforms because Brie Felnagle had a nearly identical, yet different Beasts TC singlet than her teammates - hers was adidas to fulfill sponsor obligations. I've always held that up as an elegant approach to clubs with athletes of disparate shoe contracts, and something I'd love to see more of in the pro scene. It would be way better for everyone if athletes could change geography or sponsor without needing to change both.

Walk me through how this decision making plays out during the race. You're running behind a guy. You think you can beat him... Then you estimate the team score in your head, decide you don't actually need to beat him, and say "F it" and hang back?
YOU are a clueless, axe-grinding wanker. There's no damn way anyone in the race knows any team's runners' positions to tally up scores. This is a fully faulty premise, moran.
I think you're missing the point of my post. The other dude implied that the slightly different uniforms would cause other runners to make different decisions during the race. I was pointing out how ridiculous that is and mocking the idea that a runner would choose who to beat based on their uniforms.
Of course no one is going to count up team scores and decide whether to run faster based on that information. I asked the other poster that question to make a point of how ridiculous the idea is.
Officials don't care about Dqing a group of primarily white men for small uniform infractions. They only get thier rocks off smashing the dreams of 14 year old minority girls finishing 6th for thier team.
Why would an apparel company like adidas or 361 let their sponsored athletes wear Nike in the Olympics when millions are watching but not let them where an off brand singlet in a race where there are more competitors than spectators? Some things in this sport are so backwards.
You're right, I didn't read well. Mea culpa.
What sort of sponsor bonus did Pearson earn from 361° for running in this race and placing as high as he did? That's the motivation.

The different uniforms are only a small part of the violation. The biggest issue is that the group of people they put together and raced as a team does not meet the definition of a team per USATF rules. I would like to see the addresses they registered with. Here is the rule:
USATF Competition Rule 4.2, in Open Cross Country competition, an athlete who is a non-resident member of an Association is eligible to compete for a team in that Association only if the athlete:
a) resides in an adjoining Association with government-defined Metropolitan Statistical Area (MSA) of a city which is primarily in the neighboring Association as approved by the appropriate sport committee or council; or
b) has historical membership based upon Association residency (at least 3 years continuous USATF membership years) is eligible to compete for that club.
This has been a long ongoing problem for decades. Local organizing groups don't understand the national rules.
Cobbling regional teams to compete as one national team last minute.
They are focused on getting people to the start line , around the course and through the finish line to tabulate scores.
A blue print check list should be given to the local organizing group after they won the bid to host. 2-3 weeks prior a check off with national office that the list has been reviewed and confirmed all is in place.
Honestly it looks like Pearson went out of his way to match his 361 singlet to match the rest of the team. This thread is silly.

Funny, how the faux controversy is debunked.
I've always thought that uniform violations should usually be resolved by a fine to the team, not a DQ. Take away some prize money if they won some, or double their entry fees. If they don't pay, they can't come back next year.
1) If a team has a major uniform violation that either a) seems intentional, or b) can be shown to have significantly impacted the race (e.g. guy in unmarked singlet is let go in a tactical race, and is the difference-maker in the team-scoring), then the team faces possible time/place penalties or even a DQ.
2) If the violations are minor, don't seem like an attempt to get a competitive advantage, and didn't clearly impact the race, the team is fined an appropriate amount, and subject to an extra check the next year.
Well, if there isn’t money on the line then tinman probably don’t give AF. Everyone knows how the race played out. Take it away or don’t. This isn’t a school or a “real” team anyhow. These are just a collection of professional runners trying to make it. It’s an individual sport after college.
If there is money on the line then that’s a different story. If there is money on the line then they do care and they also should not get it. Rules is rules. If nobody followed the rules then it would be a bit f’ed up.
Absolutely abhorrent. Tinman and all associated should be banned.

My God. Now that the facts are out . The OP should be ashamed.
I always thought singlets should be the same but change the logo of the sponsor - like if you someone wanted to sponsor the yello letsrun singlet, you just change out the logo from Puma to adidas, to whatever.
They did exactly what I would have done if I was coaching a team full of guys with different sponsors.
OP acted like singlets would be hard to differentiate. They all look identical. Who in the hell even notices the shoe logo?
Biggest failed thread of the decade???
Please mock the OP on the next podcast.
The OP is a total tool. I wonder what other drivel they spout off about.
