Huge bonus for a WR.
Organisers are offering a €70,000 (US$ 77,700) world record bonus on top of an additional €30,000 (US$ 33,300) bonus for landmark performances, sub 58:00 for men and sub-1:04:30 for women.
Actually based on current track form, she is capable, I think, of running 63.20-63.50. If the conditions are decent tomorrow, I would not be surprised to see her go sub. 64".
The new era in women's distance running has arrived. Mental blocks have been eroded.
Women now realize they can achieve times fairly close to some National calibre male athletes. Hassan would now be a lock on many male National teams, if just based on times and potential.
Funny how it's happened at the same time as the Cheaterflies and Cheaterspikes.

What national team would 29,30 for 10k be a "lock"? Trinidad and Tobago?
The 64'28 of Brigid Kosgei at the Great North Run doesn t lie. Yes the course is not eligible for record purpose, but do you think Kosgei would have run slower in another Half Marathon , I dont think so , considering that 64'28 at the Great North Run in September would have bring a 2:14:04 a month later in Chicago. And so Brigid Kosgei we can say in a month has destroyed both Half Marathon and Marathon world record by a huge margin.
Hassan , I dont think she is at the same level of Brigid Kosgei, and also those Kenyan ladies from Florence Kiplagat to Peres Chepchircir to Jepkosgei, and now the fastest ever Brigid Kosgei are crazy fast. For Sifan Hassan breaking the 1:05 wall would be an huge achievement. I dont think she will break Jepkosgei record

lmao at "mental blocks." Sure, the pogo shoes and drugs have nothing to do with anything. Mental blocks!!!!!
The race is supposed to be live here :
The forecast for the 9 am start is 60 F (15.5 C) with a 4 mph wind. The dew point will be 54 (12.2C).
At 11 am, it's supposed to get up to 67 F(19.4C) so I'd imagine when the elites finish it will be about 63 (17.2C).
I'm not fluent in Spanish, but I tried...
"After Doha I had a lot of stress and I don't know how I'm going to feel. I will do my best and we'll see where how far we can go."

She'll be too distracted since recovering from the WC where she was simply outstanding. She'll run 1:07something. Later on she'll break the world record at another race.
62:30 on pure hate.

Ya sure, Alberto has some secret training that no one else knows about.
It's talent and the will to work hard to achieve your utmost potential. Many other coaches in this country could coach Sifan and she'd get to the same level. It's not rocket science, it's really not.
You're right - it's the bike. Always is.
You sound jealous Lance, still pissed because you got caught, eh? With you it wasn't the bike, it was the drugs. As Hassan, the poster is right, Al has no secret workouts, it's hardwork=great results.

Hassan isn't the only one who wants the record. Fancy Chemutai and Joan Chelimo are also in there. Chemutai missed it by 1 second at the RAK in 2018.
