I take it back, second semi was just as slow as the first one. As expected, Ingebrigtsen did absolutely NOTHING to push the pace to increase the chances for his brother to qualify.
Huh again???

And Kerr quietly getting the job done in Doha ... dark horse pick to sneak a medal
Another horrible race - tactically - for Jakob.
He was ABOUT to pass on the inside of lane one AGAIN if another runner charged up for the 5th spot.
Not good, not good at all.
what was Centro doing??? Made it by less than .2....no way he wins.He came 6th and got booted up the straight. Looked rusty.
THREE Brits in the final. People here were saying after the trials that not one would make it.

LEWANDOWSKI!!!
Oh My Days. Lewandowski is something else, near last and boxed in at the bell, leading with 200 to go ? ! ?
Also, Three Brits in the Final, whilst they may have slim to no chances of medalling, that is still a huge achievement.
Also scary how Relaxed Makhloufi looked in that last 100! This 1500m Final will be insane.

Of course, he was afraid that other runners outsprint him on the outside while he was stuck behind Kwemoi. He was lucky, if they would have been faster he probably would have broken some rule again to try to advance.

How does ETH send a guy with a PB slower than 3:38 to the worlds (Lemi)? Don't they have faster runners?
Lemi's PB is 3:35. He's the second fastest ethiopian runner in 1500m this year (Tefera first)
Is this the first time three Brits have reached a 1500 global final since LA 84? Might be first time two have reached a final since 88 (Cram/Elliot).
Ben misses final by 0.13sec...
8 of 12 finalists are non-african. pretty white heavy final for a distance event at a world championships.

No kidding. It was pretty clear he was going to push to get through if outside kickers had gone faster.

He did look rusty. Hope he regroups for Final, but his kick and last 200 were not where they usually are.
Kwemoi looked great and you wonder if Kenya will smartly have him take lap 1 in 58 or so before Cheruiyot takes over. Both guys could benefit from that I believe.

He runs kind of rough (a literal "Beast" lol), but he was smiling at the finish. Kind of the anti-smooth counterpart to Centro, but both are medal threats.
Some big names out. Soul Man, Musagala, Iguider, Tefera.
Hoping for Jakob, Lew, and Makh Daddy to snag medals.
Kwemoi looks to be glowing again. One of the most obvious cheats I've seen in some time.
And Tefera is proof that success on these new bouncy springboard indoor tracks doesn't correlate to outdoor success.
F Ingebrigtsen is OUT. Between 1st and 12th place there were ONLY 0.35 seconds - the closest semi-finals of any competition (World's, Olympics) in history.
Lewandowski and Makhloufi will get the medals.
Hey, Gabby! Why can't you pronounce Barshim's name correctly?
I have to think Tim leading the final from wire to wire ), gradually ratcheting up the pace is the best strategy for him, no?
Lewandowski and Makloufi look like favorites if it's slower and more tactical.
Jakob will hug the rail as usual and lose to the smater tacticians who won't let him slip by on the inside (the only time he wins).
Tim C is a lock, no?
