Coburn is really going for it!
Coburn is really going for it!
5:57 thru 2k
She's on pace to break 9 if she can hang on to 2nd place to pull her along.
World record might be gone at rate Chepkoech is going.
Flying pretty close to the sun here.
Emma looks to be at 6 flat at 2K
Coburn needs 72/72 for a 9 min.
7.54 at the bell for Emma. Got to get after it.
stupid pacing
She's done.
I knew Coburn would flame out
Chepkoech hangs on 9.01, Emma fades to 6th? 9.09?
Great race by G Krause and nice PR after having a tough last year. Beat Coburn, NR, and over 4 sec PR quite unexpected after her last races.
Hey, I picked the winning time in the prediction contest! Too bad it was what I put Emma would run...
Well that was a painful lap to watch
Coburn 9:10. She went out in I think 2:53!?!?!
That is nuts. Might help her at Worlds to feel a bit more comfortable if she goes out at 2:58-3:00
Nice run by by Gesa Krause in 9:07.51 for German record (her best this year prior to this was only 9:20)
And now they're showing javelin. The fact the lesser events get the same prize money as the 100 is an issue and probably just leads to those events getting dropped.
Abda went through so fast because at 200 meters he was struggling to be ahead of Amos... Amos was out crazy fast through 170 meters, Abda had to go even faster to get ahead of him and then somewhat maintained.
Amos' pressure on Abda's heels made Abda go through too fast.
Most runners look to be in a heavy training period.
The pacing is off and the finishing speed is lacking.
Fun meet no matter what

Agreed, in every race where Abda has gone out too fast this has been the case.

Yes, great race by Gesa!
