Can we agree that handing the winner a bouquet 5 seconds after they finish is just dumb. Why is this still done?

Henrik is finally looking good again
New Norwegian record for Henrik.
That was nice :-)

It’s a cool 60 F and dropping so we might not see fast marks in the sprints.
I’ll say Sydney McLaughlin wins in the last 50m in 53.75.
Barega wins in 7:30. Chepkoech in 8:58. Warholm actually PRs in 47.5. Murphy kicks down Jakub in the homestretch.
Don’t think barega wins. For me, it’s balew v mcsweyn
Yeah well maybe for you.
I thought Barega would dominate more than he did. The other Ethiopians ran poorly. Drew Hunter beat Jon Gault's over/under
Hunter running 7:39.85 for 3,000m at 21 years old. Just a reminder, he finished high school a year behind Grant Fisher. This could actually be his redshirt sophomore season if he had wanted it to be.
Let that sink in. Also, just reiterates that he DID make the right decision taking the money in bypassing the NCAA. His investments compounding and reinvesting dividends over those 4-5 years that would have been in the NCAA will be thanking him.
Also, he would have dealt with an Oregon coach that left for Washington. All in all, signing early isn't always bad. Congratulations, Drew.

Congrats. His PR is now only 6 seconds behind the likes of Ryan Hill.

No, definitely do not agree.

The weather here in Oslo is finally getting OK. The last days have been full of rain and really cold. But this afternoon it is sunny and the temperature will be around 16C.
Under the bleachers, you will find a 500m track where all the athletes are warming up.
Norwegian TV has had Bislett fever for 2 days. Lots on the TV.
Armand Duplantis has gotten a lot of attention. Smart of him to be pro instead of letting LSU getting all the money for no work.
What money does LSU get from having Mondo on their team? That was funny. Paying a kid's tuition and books is generous enough.
Nice piece by NBC SN on Gabe Grunewald.
The world needs inspirational figures, even those who fight gallantly yet ultimately lose the battle.
Go Nelvis!
Darn, a bit of a stumble right out of the blocks from Nelvis. Never seemed to really get back into her race completely.
How much time did Clemens give away with her hair up like that?
I would b upset if I was the other hurdles competing against Nelvis. She takes foreeeeeeevvvver to get in the blocks. If I was BMCneals coach. I advise her to not even get close to her blocks til Nelvis does. Nelvis take a good extra 10 to 15 seconds to get into the blocks. Doesnt seem like a long time til your actually in the blocks waiting for the command if "set".

In the M100m, it’s hard to see CC getting pushed by anyone in this race. He should take it easy and deliver a measured win, no need to kill himself. He will need a decent time to win, but he needs to pace himself to those WC’s later this year.
Still waiting for Prescod to have a breakthrough, all he needs is to accidentally hit a start.
Are you implying by “no need to kill himself” that running all out in a 100 vs just running to win will preserve him??
Just like Boldon just said: “put away comfortably”.
Learn something.
Huge, an easy 9.85 (+0.9) FTW when nobody else broke 10.
THAT was huge.
Too bad for Prescod, pulling up, hope he’s OK.
Great to see the start made critical again by CC. Nothing like putting the pressure on just after the race starts.
Looked easy.
Yeah I used to hate it when people did that, but over the years it has become accepted that someone will do it.
Hunter in PB shape for 1500 right now. Could run 3’33-3’34 this season. This would have been his junior year of college.
Emma looks pretty good, it figures Jepkoech would put some distance on her but she's staying close

I don’t think he’s in PR shape as far as the 1500 goes, but I’m still really excited for him. He really impressed. This is yet more evidence—he’s a 5000 runner who should run 5000s now.
