I think if this were the real Kelsey, the real cofounders would have had the common decency to respond by now.

I have only posted like 4 times in 10 years. I really enjoy positive stories like this. Congrats to you Kelsey and Letsrun for bringing this positive experience to us. Best of luck to you Kelsey. Looking forward to hearing more from you.

That can't have taken very long.

I'm crying real tears reading this drivel
Oh good it's not just me then. PS Nice to meet you Kelsey.
Thank you for your post Kelsey.
Best of luck to you .
And congratulations Brojos on a job well done.
Love your story even more after this awesome post! Looking forward to following your career and the big thing you do next. Definitely a new Kelsey fan here!!!
Cool. Nice job Kelsey and BroJos
And LRC was kind enough to provide pics as well :). Another first.
Thanks and well done. I was excited about the project. Putting 'ordinary' runners into the World XC Championships was a great move by the brojos.
Did anyone else notice who Kelsey Bruce shares the same initials as - KB
seeing you on the course and riding by and saying good luck to you in my rental Audi I thought it was super cool to see you there. If you ever want to come to Australia and train with my group you have a place to stay. All the best to you! Cheers and GOOD Luck!

It was great to have the two of you participate....your enthusiasm was contagious. As a member of the Local Organizing Committee, some of our goals was to inject new life into the World XC and make it a memorable experience for everyone.

Sounds like you met the people you were looking for; and don’t forget that they were searching for you as well.

Having followed Letsrun and the brojos for about 15 years, I have often scratched my head at many of the things they have done over the years and had concerns about the effect their work has on the sport. Sponsoring two runners to go to World XC and writing very good coverage about the athletes selected is the first time I can unequivocally say that the Brojos really did a great thing for the sport in a way that no other publication, sponsor, vendor or event has ever done. Footing the bill for two runners to go to World XC was just an act of pure kindness and love for the sport and its competitors.
I think the next step is to take the anonymity out of the message board and immediately delete and ban anyone who makes a drug accusation without definite, factual proof.
A good post from a good runner. The main takeaway here is that she actually pursued Letsrun opportunity.
This thread is getting a little too upbeat for LRC! Where's a new Jamin angst-fueled post lamenting some aspect of his less than joyful existence on the planet to make us all feel better about ourselves.
While on the subject of Jamin and benevolent gestures by the brojos, why not sponsor our young lad to fly to Europe this summer to dabble at a few lesser known European track-meets. He could aim for a sub 14:30 5K. The brojos could higher Brad Hudson as Jamin's coach and mentor since Brad has a little free time on his hands since Allie is on temporary 'thon hiatus.
I see a short, but epic Youtube Chanel chronicling this partnership would also be quite entertaining.
Possible working titles:
Brad and Jamin's Summer in Brussels
Making Jamin Great Again
Brad, Allie, and some guy named Jamin
Jamin's Summer vacation
Your welcome, for another fantastic idea!

I'm crying right now for the above reason

These "You can do it too if you only put your faith in god" speeches are the modern day missionaries. Reasonable people don't believe in fairy tales, so save your breathe.
fine Kelsey, i *might* have become a little sweaty eyed, but that's just the weather around here.
seriously as others have mentioned, many of us on this board are fiscally fortunate and would be happy to do something like this in the future. I hope the brojos continue this trend, and maybe more often than once every two years for WCCC. I would certainly be happy to pay for a plane ticket for an up and comer to fly out to say the 1/2 or marathon champs, and i'm sure many in the local communities would be willing to jump in and host such athlete(s). Between regulars here, the brojos, and local runners at championship venue communities, I bet we could sponsor at least 20 athletes a year to races that they might not otherwise be able to attend. Consider me good for a plane ticket per year, at least, maybe two.
fwiw, the primary reason I'm willing to make an upfront commitment like this is because of KB and MC's thankfulness for the opportunity and KB's thoughtfulness to post a heartfelt thank you on the boards. Kudos to you KB for doing so, and MC, keep your head up buddy, there's a lot of us in LA who are proud of you and think you should be as well for giving it an honest and good go.
