If you guys accept that he is an American at birth because his mother is an American citizen, why was there any question about Obama?

There wasn't since he was born in Hawaii. But being born in another country to a US citizen parent is generally thought to qualify under the natural-born clause of the Constitution, but it has never been litigated. There were some who argued with sincerety that Cruz didn't qualify. At some point the Supreme Court will likely have to weigh in on the issue.

There was never a favorite like Henry Rono in 1978, and it was pretty cold in Madison that year. Rono is still out there trying to finish, I believe.

What happened to Rono? He had won NCAA Cross the two previous years and set his track world records in 78, right?

Anybody know?
I mean, not that he didn't win, which was obviously an upset, but that he didn't come anywhere near.
BYU went 1-2 at ND and it wasn’t really their top runner. I hope they have it figured out this year to get an American 1st at nationals.

Real Canadian Rory Linkletter, will win (or die trying). The Kenyan runners will not be a major factor in WI deep freeze. The Donner party ring a bell?
Rory Linkletter will have to be first on his team before thinking about winning the NCAA XC title.
Brodey Hasty for the win!
Why hasn't anyone mentioned him?
It seemed last Spring everyone was banding his name about for this and that.

Rono took a wrong turn on the course.

Yeah but so did Salazar and the other leaders.

When Henry was a certain amount of distance back, he just gave up because he wasn't going to get the victory...he wasn't running for 2nd place.
Now days someone runs against an African and they complain, even if they're here legally and did everything by the book.

Yesterday showed how stupid this quote was by Miltenberg. Fisher beat NAU's Tyler Day by .04 seconds, NAU's Baxter by .6 seconds and then there were 5 others, including another NAU runner less than 10 seconds from him. I don't doubt that Fisher will continue to progress over the next 5 weeks, but is there any reason to think some of these others guys won't as well?
Here's how far back NAU was from Fisher
1. @ 0:00.04
2. @ 0:00.60
3. @ 0:08.40
4. @ 0:22.10
5. @ 0:23.60
6. @ 0:26.20
7. @ 0:33.50
Hopefully Miltenberg will be able to sleep better at night now not worrying about the competition so much.

One of my biggest takeaways from yesterday is that Fisher has a lot of work to do between now and nationals if he wants to win the individual title. Pre nats went out slow and the two NAU guys were essentially even with Fisher on the kick. Baxter and Day aren't supposed to be anywhere close to Fisher in a kick. At nationals when the pace is taken out faster and the distance is moved up to 10k, I really don't think that Fisher will be much of a factor. At the moment, it seems unlikely that the individual title will be won by someone that's not Baxter, Day, or McDonald.
Rupp, a real american, will win

I think you are over-analyzing his quote.
