Ivy League education is worth squat. One of the owners of this site is IL educated, and he writes like a 7th grader.

An Ivy League education is worth squat because there is at least one Ivy Leaguer who cannot write?

Pendergast needs to go back to Harvard . She set school records made NCAA.s and was a beast on the track there .
A beast on the track, maybe, but she seemed to struggle in the shot put:
https://www.gocrimson.com/sports/track/2017-18/bios/pendergast_judy_zcaa?view=bioSeriously, transferring from Harvard to Oregon seems pretty extreme, even considering the welcome change from trudging through Cambridge winters on concrete sidewalks to dashing along Eugene's woodchip trails on misty mornings. I think I'd jump at the chance to return to Harvard.

Yeah because no one wants her anymore lol.

I can’t divulge my source yet, but I promise you that it’s true.
Rainsberger talked to CU, but the money was better at UW and she wanted to follow the Powell’s.
We all know your source is Lisa Rainsberger...you don’t have to hide it, she told half of Colorado & anyone else who’d listen...as usual.

I think it would depend on if Judy wants to return to running with the team. Sure, there is a new coach in charge of the women's distance group, but who knows if the other girls would welcome her back. It seems like team was pretty divided about the whole coaching situation back in 2017 (see the school article -
https://www.thecrimson.com/article/2017/3/23/distance-runners-team-divided/).
I also heard a rumor that Judy may transfer back to Harvard but opt not to run with the team.

Nice to see academics listed as one runner’s reason... definitely a huge difference between Oregon and UW there.
Calling UW vastly superior to OU academically is a stretch. Better, yes more difficult to get into nationals yes. ----But don't pretend it's an Ivy....or even Berkley ior UCLAf you want to compare in conference.
are you high?

LOL!
Actually BOTH BroJos went to Ivy League schools.
WeJo went to Yale
RoJo went to Princeton
I can't believe the poster spelled UCLA incorrectly...not something you see everyday...
Kate Murphy ran the 2nd fastest time ever at U Oregon in HS. Seems impossible, but that is where her 4:07 fits and at many major colleges would be the school record out right.
Like Rainsberger, she was a prep phenom. Could take some time to get back into that kind of shape. Its common to see women ( sometimes men, but not as much) really struggle form a year off . She might be in the 4:20 / 4: 40 Indoor - range in 2019. Time will tell

That's because coach Kepler is nice and probably let her go without a fuss. She should have stayed at Utah, was running way better there!
Good point, have heard nothing but good things about Kepler.
I enjoyed the Q&A with Murphy but this excerpt concerned me:
"I was gonna take an online class. I already took one the first four weeks but it was so stressful because you condense 10 weeks of school into four weeks so I dropped that class. I'm pretty much just focusing on running and cross training right now."
But you are only taking 1 class. So yes it's more intense but it's one class.
Of course she did! My guess is CO wouldn't even talk to her during this Oregon exodus.

It’s well known Kate has the mindset/mind of a dude. Dumb as a brick & ONLY cares about running. Why she ended up at Oregon.
I was curious so looked up Pendergast results from this yr. Ugh!
Do you ever make posts that are NOT ripping on a collegiate athlete or coach?

I have to run for an hour.....AND read for an hour? ughhhh
I loaded up on correspondence classes and graduated in 3 years, easy peasy.

For his job he runs a website about running that clearly doesn't take much to maintain, but is good enough that we are all here posting on it making him ad money. That is worth much more than squat in my eyes.
No scholarship limits anymore! (NCAA Track and Field inequality is going to get way worse, right?)
