Don't you also find it funny that when your gender is concealed you lose the special treatment you normally feel entitled to?

Men are simple minded and more nostalgic. A plain old message board with 1999 style works for us.
there are no women on the internet, only men pretending to be women.
its a proven fact.

The banter that goes on here is just not female-friendly. The constant ribbing, insults, general toxicity, the determination to one-up each other, and the obsession with compiling meaningless all-time lists and hypothetical matchups (a Chinese mitten crab vs a ground-bound fruit bat. Which would win over 1500m?). These, unfortunately, are male traits.
Have you taken a look at all the gossip and mean talk the women over at the GomiBlog forums do? They make us guys on LRC look like saints.

Are you a woman?

Chinese mitten crabs spend most of their existence in water. For that reason alone the bat would win, provided the 1500 was on a standard track.

Women don't like negativity, are more sensitive to bulling and personal attacks. Hence after they read a few posts they run (haha) away quickly.
This is it 100%
Probably the reason why is that men and women go to the internet for running advice for different reasons.
Women are all into the support other women and lift other women up, type of thing. There's no indication that this message board is about that,
Men want to challenge each other and troll each other and have sausage fests.
How do you know its mostly men here? have you checked whats in our pants?
I don't know why I come here sometimes. Most of the chatrooms I visit are mostly girls, and not only that, but they like and respect me there. This site is full of nasty boys, a lot of who bully me.

Woman here, have been reading this forum for about 13 years now. I ran at a mid-major D1 school and all the other ladies on the team used to read Letsrun or at least knew what it was. However, when I make posts, I rarely identify my gender for obvious reasons (getting asked for pics isn't really funny anymore) and I know many women like this.
When jaguar1 won the Comrades marathon, it was nice to see many of the women who read these messageboards come out of the woodwork to congratulate her. So we are out here, but don't identify our gender on every post ;)
Pics?

There are just as many women interested in running; curious why the message board only attracts bros.
that is not true. Women are not interested in competing in general. Because of injuries I have done quite a lot waterrunning. In the pool you can hear what people are talking about. There is a huge difference between men and women. Men are talking about training and races whereas women talk about weddings and things like that. There must be a relationship & wedding forum where women write.
I can tell there are more female posters than some may believe. When we see posters refusing to give their PB and especially when we see posters stating they are 5:20 to 5:40 1600m runners, most or many are females.

Why would I bother- there’s nothing even remotely interesting to see esp as it relates to the men here.
So you are basing your opinion off what people discuss in the pool? Is it possible that your sample is skewed?

In what way would it be skewed?
The pool likely isn't a representative sample of runners in general.
I know what a sampling bias is sherlock. Please explain HOW the sample would be skewed and WHY that is relevant to the observation, which is that male runners in the pool talk about running and female runners in the pool talk about wedding cakes.
You have to be color-blind to not be driven off by the layout. Males outnumber by a large ratio there.
First of all, you never made it clear that it was runners in the pool. For all I know you could have been in a public pool, which is what I assumed, which wouldn't be a true sample. Seems like you are moving the goal post to suit your needs here.
Second of all, I'm not sure I believe that "female runners in the pool talk about wedding cakes." I was a collegiate runner for a top d1 team and I don't think I ever heard our women discussing that; they were training obsessed as well. Third, let's say for argument's sake they do talk about something other than running while they are training, why does that mean they are less competitive? It is possible for people to have other interests and still maintain other interests and hobbies. Thinking about running 24/7 doesn't make you any better or more competitive than someone who thinks about other things.
ALSO, the sample could still be skewed because it is still too small - your anecdotal experience in a pool with what appears to be your team does not speak for all runners. An accurate sample reflects everyone in the population.
