I have a couple things for them that I too bought on sale. I felt meh about them.
As much as I support women-owned businesses, I am leery of women-specific items that don't need to be specific to women. Other than sports bras and maybe shorts/pants, what do I need to wear when I run that has to be tailored to women? Wasn't there some study that said items specific to women are sold at higher prices? I can buy something in a men's small and be OK running in it.
I bought Head and Shoulders for Men once by accident and suddenly didn't feel like a man.
Do men really think about clothes that look good while running? Do women?
Absolutely a valid point. I think your build determines how well men's clothing will fit. I can fit into men's or gender neutral tops fine, but not bottoms. Oiselle shorts are by far the most comfortable/flattering/minimal chafing shorts I've ever owned, so I am willing to spend a little extra money there. There are some small differences in other garments (a women's crewneck sweatshirt I owns has smaller holes in the neck than my men's sweatshirt, which makes them a bit warmer). I can't justify a significant increase in price in my budget for that, but if I can get them at the same price, I would pick the women's cut every time. It is frustrating you often have to pay more for those details for women.
Looking great while running isn't something I get hung up on, but I spend so much time in my running clothes before/after runs, that I do appreciate when I look somewhat pulled together. I don't get the Instagram obsession of posting runs/times/outfits though.
