Kiprop got into the lead on the back stretch of the last lap and slowed down. Everyone following him slowed down too. Managoi and Cheriyot were handed a gift. But 3:28 is a serious time. The others lost an opportunity.

he meant the lead of the chase pack. he slowed the chase down from reeling in the top 2
choppy feed so i didnt really get a full idea of how the race played out- what was up with kwemoi? figured he'd be contending
Jim Watson who is calling the meet on NBCSN sure doesn't listen to his analysts. Can't believe he asked Paul Swangard how fast the pacers in the men's 1500 were supposed to run the first 800 less than 30 seconds AFTER Swangard said they were supposed to go through around 1:52.
Why Swangard is being relegated to an analyst as opposed to doing the play-by-play of this meet is beyond me.
Oh yeah, Rohler for 89.17m in javelin!

That's not what happened at all. Kiprop was leading the chase group. The chase gropu was like 1.5 seocnds back to start the lap and even farther back at that point. If anyone was going to catch them, it would have been Kiprop.
https://twitter.com/letsrundotcom/status/888464567092879360Why are Cram and Hutchinson blaming Asbel for "holding back" the field? Was he stopping them from chasing Manangoi and Tim Cheruiyot?

Why you are listening to that feed and not the international one is beyond me.

Another option though not the best.
http://cricfree.sc/nbcsn-live-streamingNBC was calling this a meeting record, which is certainly untrue given what Kiprop has run in the past.
Official splits say 53.7 and 1:51.4, it definitely looked more like 52.8 and 1:50 mid, seems like that's why everyone withdrew that 3rd lap.
isaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaac maaaaaakwaaaaalaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
hmmm didnt i tell everyone last couple weeks that centro would be a 3:34 guy from here on out cause of all the heat salazar and NOP are under?

That's probably because a "MR" tag incorrectly flashed on screen next to the winning time when they crossed the line.

Justus Soget is 17-years-old. Remember the name.

You have to watch the gap. It was like 20 meters at the head of the back stretch and 50 by the end. So the other explanation was that the leaders were accelerating and I can accept that.
