why must runners stick to one event early or late season.
You responded to my quote, wineturtle, as if you think I am questioning why 1500 specialists would ever run in Friday's 5k. Obviously I wasn't really saying that those guys I mentioned should stick to one event. It apparently went right over your head. Read the beginning of my post, where I quote from scorpion_runner, who really does not understand the logic of a 1500 meter runner entering a 5k.
Latest weather report for Friday on weather.gov (just one wx source) calls for breezy conditions. Not ideal for fast times:
Friday
Mostly sunny, with a high near 67. West northwest wind 5 to 10 mph increasing to 15 to 20 mph in the afternoon. Winds could gust as high as 25 mph.
Friday Night
Partly cloudy, with a low around 46. West northwest wind around 20 mph, with gusts as high as 25 mph.

Apologies extended. (long winded excuse here) but the bottom line is I should have paid better attention to thread evolution and double checking what to partially quote.
Thank you
That's A-OK, wineturtle. No hurt feelings, and I appreciate the apology.
A civil correction and an heartfelt apology on LetsRun !
Anyway to watch this meet without signing up for subscription? Can i pay for just the meet?
I think they started a 30 buck one month option.

Seems like a good deal. Costs $10 to get a ticket. If you watch more than 3 meets in a month, then it is worth it. Maybe even 2 if you include the cost of parking/gas/travel/food.

Why are two 1500 meter runners running the 5000 meter event?
Hassan and Centro.
Are they just using the race as a tune-up, or both runners are thinking about moving to 5k in the future?
Centro looked terrible in the 2mile event at the Millrose games.
I think that Centro is in Heat 2 of the 5000, not Heat 1.
remember German Fernandez 10k debut
