I guess that we will only know if Ches is better than Kerr if he races and beats Kerr.
Let's see if that happens.
Until then, Kerr is better.

Drugs have ZERO positive impact on performances.

Thanks Renato. We can always count on you to protect your livelihood.

It's interesting that Kerr is running in the NCAA (and he's not American), while Hunter is not.
Time will tell who made the right decision.
Kerr will be in the record books, win championships, have a NCAA history as Hunter will not. Hunter will be a side show of top finishing young guy with some money in his pocket.
Kerr will graduate and move on to being one of the top brits with a great NCAA history.
How else can you say it?
Have you ever run a mile and a 1500? To go through 1500 of a mile .1 slower than someone's 1500 pb would generally make you faster because they don't have to save for the last 109 in a mile. I think you clearly missed the point. Also Kerr ran on an outdoor track which means the turns are less sharp and the air is easier to breath.
I think Kerr is a great talent and will win many NCAA titles to come if he opts to remain in school, but he still has a lot to prove. Ches has 17 titles, Kerr has just 1. Obviously Kerr beat Ches the one time they raced but the guy from Lewis and Clark also beat Ches last year. You can't discredit Kerrs victory at NCAAs because he ran one hell of a race but 1 good race doesn't instantly make him better than Ches who has a greater body of work and has done more than Kerr over Kerrs own distances 800/1500. ( unless of course you are someone who believes Noah Ngeny was better than El G).
I would love to get a rematch between the two but it's unlucky to happen because Ches best move is to score 20 pts for sure and focus on 5k/10k. Although they choked and didn't win the indoor title I think they can surprise some people outdoors. Gorman, maton, and prakel are coming on strong and hopefully Haney can get healthy. That could be a lot of pts 800-5k. Throw in Kyree King (1 and 2) chambers (2 and 4) Ben Thiel (400h) Damarcus Simpson ( long and triple) plus decathlete Mitch modin I think they have a shot. Maybe they throw in Ches in the 1500 to score 5-8 extra. Could happen if Holloway has a bad weekend because we may see him Long 400 HJ and both relays

Neither of these athletes is concerned with what the other has done. I'm sure they have their own agenda and goals.
This was Kerr's breakthrough race I think that's a pretty by over 5 seconds. Would be interesting to see what he can do for 800m this year.

WHITE POWER!!!
(lol, yes, every E. African to run faster than the euro/white guys is doped, and none of the white guys ever have. too funny)
Tamango with that sub 4 equivalent. Nice

So you are saying that Kerr is older, even though he is younger? That he's overaged, while Hunter who isn't even running in college is underage? Maybe we ought to do something about that Green Card. Would that satisfy you?

Yes. Obviously. No I didn't. Impossible to say whether an outdoor 400m track conveys an advantage.
Kerr is a powerfully built middle distance runner, we're not going to see low 27s in the 10000m from him, but he should break the 1500/mile records in due course.
Yay for this damn board. I always know I can come here and not see ONE truly positive thing said about ANYONE or ANYTHING.
Listen to yourselves! Hunter SUCKS. Ches is no KING, he is a COWARD, he flaps his goddamn ARMS about like a sissy, and is 27 or close. Kerr is NOTHING to get EXCITED ABOUT - YET.
Oh, and even Kip Keino was a dirtball who just QUIT when he was BEATEN. Beaten by mzungu LOSERS.
I like to think we're all in this together, and I visit LRC hoping for some camaraderie and bonhomie, whatever those even are. But instead I come here and am reminded that in distance running, basically EVERYONE is negative and a worthless loser. Most of us are Americans, which means that as a group, we are NOT fast, NOT literate. have an absolute MORON for a president, and are a joke to the world.
With about three exceptions, Americans should quit running and get jobs--those who are even employable! And those three exceptions are DOPERS, along with the grinning, dickfaced Africans who cheat to win!
Where is the SUPPORT? Where is the POSITIVITY?
And I agree that Canova is a mendacious PRICK and should NOT be allowed anywhere near elite talent--period. But unless you have evidence of his doping people, I suggest you curb your CRAPPY attitudes, and let the man be.
The level of anonymous pee spraying and turd flinging is BADLY out of hand. Most of you should and will die alone, and none to goddamn soon.
So again I ask: WHERE is the love?

This is a thread about Kerr. He ran an amazing race, which completely backed up his mile victory at NCAA. He impressed everybody on this board.
I don't think that anybody here said that Hunter sucks. What was said is that Kerr, who is the same age as Hunter and comparative talent level, is progressing extremely well in the NCAA. We are simply wondering whether Hunter should have also chosen the NCAA path (we saw Cain avoiding the NCAA and it did not pan out for her and we are hoping for the best for Hunter). It would have been great to see Hunter and Kerr in the NCAA system for the next 4 years.
Nobody said that Ches was a bad runner. However, he has never proven to be a gracious loser (unlike Knight...). We don't know yet whether he is a coward. We are simply speculating that Ches may now feel that he can no longer beat Kerr. Kerr has proven to be a championship type runner (at NCAA) and now he has also proven that he is a fast time trialer, Though to find a strategy to go against that.
This is normal "fan" discussion that you see in every sport. Expect people to compare runners and speculate outcomes. That's pretty much the essence of the sport. You will always get different point of views. Some fans feel better affinity to some runners and less for others.

Everyone is still saying Hunter is a better 5k runner, but I'm still waiting on evidence
What has Hunter done to show that he's a much better 5k runner than miler? I mean, his mile is what? 3:56? What has he done that even remotely equates to that in a 5k? Even that's better than his 7:53 3k PR.
yup. and he ran 1:48 with the 800 not being his focus. he is a miler rn.

You are a joke.
The simple fact that people are comparing Cheserek to Josh Kerr over 1500m/Mile just shows how good he is, the man is a 5km-10km athlete which just shows his brilliant versality.
