A tall order

Their 1500 / indoor PRs are faster than that:
Colby Alexander 3:36.5
Donn Cabral 3:56.4i
Ford Palmer 3:36.9
Kyle Merber 3:34.5
That being said, I agree it's a tall order considering not all of them are probably in peak shape at this point, and soloing is hard.

habs, wondering why you think their 1500 PRs are more useful than their mile PRs ?
I
IAAF has Cabral at 3:40.03 out and 3:44.42Indoor what is that 3:56.4i
can trackbot do lists?
I would just go with an ALL OHIO team in the 4 X mile or better yet, the 4 X 800
Alexander
Windle
Kidder
Murphy
It looks like the 4 X 800 record is a pedestrian 7:13.
Really difficult to run solo. They'll get the record, but no sub 16.
Cabral 4:03.5
Palmer 4:02.0
Alexander 3:58.5
Merber 3:58
16:02
in the letsrun interview, Merber says it would be himself, Colby Alexander, Ford Palmer and "probably" Donn Cabral.. to me that means that they're trying to decide between Cabral and Gregorek. I don't see why his Asics sponsorship would make any difference. They'd be competing as the NJ NY Track Club, and Gregorek is on the roster... http://njnytc.com/athletes/gregorek.php
Per the IAAF website, the only listed records, indoor or outdoor, are 4x1500m. So similarly to the women's DMR, will this mark technically be considered a "world best," not a record, regardless of whether they run under the outdoor mark or not?

So these guys could become only the 3rd team in history to break 16 and the first American team ever. That is perty cool.
I'll put their chances of breaking 16:00 at roughly 5%.
Why is NJNY doing a 4xMile "WR" attempt? Did Merber's cash flow run dry from his last meaningless relay "WR"

They are doing it as a personal affront to you with no other motive or agenda

Here goes. Running alone is normally a bitch. These dudes will be far out in front all by themselves. But these guys are not normal.
These guys are a cut above. They love time trialing!
Cabral 4:01.5
Palmer 3:59.0
Alexander 3:57.0
Merber 3:57.0
World Record 15:54.50
That breaks the indoor WR and is also actually faster than the outdoor American Record. I've been looking around and can only see a few sub 16 times ever. Maybe only 3 or 4? All outdoor.
I think they can do it and running solo might be better as long as they are not having to run around a lot of lapped runners. Competitive DMRs and 4xmile usually end up being tactical.
anyone else think Ford Palmer looks like the main oompa loompa from the OG Willy Wonka movie?
I'll predict 16:04-05. Might adjust once I figure out if it will actually be Cabral or Gregorek.
If this team gets under 16:10 it will be terrific.
I recall the group that tried to go sub 16 outdoors at Hayward...Galen Rupp, Matthew Centrowitz, Andrew Wheating, Shadrack Biwott.
They came in at 16:03, running virtually on their own.
This is harder than it sounds on paper.
The Garden State Track Club will also be making the world record attempt with a group of 4:10-4:15 guys. LOL.
how many teams have to start to make it a legal race?

Not sure, but right now there's at least three, with NYNJ, GSTC, and Columbia which was apparently also invited and is putting up a 'B' team. I would think that would be enough.
Where did you hear that Columbia was invited?

habs,
Will you be at the meet? If so will you be in a position to update the board with 200m splits?
Thanks
Show up drunk. It'll make great you tube videos.
