Kara is probably aware she didn't have a dominating college "career" - she had a dominating junior or senior year
I meant the citizenship thing actually.

Well that's what Trump must mean by making America great... granting citizenship to foreigners who can do things better and claim them for yourselves.
Similar to the GB/Scotland thing. If they're really good, Scottish athletes compete for GB.
What?
Great Britain includes Scotland.
The only country from the UK it excludes is N. Ireland.
Self explanatory! Top tier junior!"
Congrats Sally!!!!!!!!!

Yeah like all runners under 18 - so again what's so remarkable about her college success (even though you just copied your initial post from her Wikipedia page.) I really hope you're not coaching youth for their sake.

Do we have any indication if she will be competing for the US? I just looked it up and Kenya does allow dual citizenship so it's not like she's forced to renounce Kenya.
That may be, but the *USA* does not recognize dual citizenship, so to become American, you have to renounce your other citizenship. Then if you want, you can add your other previous citizenship back later. So, as of today, Sally Kipyego no longer holds a Kenyan passport and is no longer Kenyan.
(Of course, the passport you hold and the country you represent in sports can be different - see Alastair Cragg.)

Sally Kipyego, who is tied with Suzy Favor Hamilton with the most NCAA titles, and won the silver medal at 10,000m became a US citizen today.
https://twitter.com/sallykipyego/status/824392234346881026Kipyego's 5000m PB (14:30) is faster than the American record (14:38) and her 10,000m pb (30:26) would put her #3 all-time in the US.
Kipyego's emphasis now however is on the marathon and she finished second at the New York City Marathon this past fall, one spot ahead of Molly Huddle.
I watched sally's career in the Big 12. I think she graduate with a degree in nursing. Good for her
Like she is ever going to be a nurse

Trumpster 👆ðŸ¼
That means one spot less for the American born athletes at Worlds.
It seems like the moderators need to put rjm33 on another time-out until he gets over his Irish psychosis and obsessions on posting irrelevant links
I wonder if she has any Greek grandparents?

Agreed. Personally I say just ban him entirely, as I don't think he has ever added anything material to a thread, but I'd settle for a long time-out.
To keep this post relevant to the thread topic, I personally am thrilled for Sally. This situation is exactly the American dream. Move to the US, get an education, learn a skill, be successful, and become a legal citizen. I will be glad to cheer her on if she competes for the US, and if she ends up raising the bar for the rest of our country's athletes, even better.
(And while I don't think this really matters, I will add it since another poster did: I am a moderately conservative Republican).
These type of transplant should NOT be record eligible. If she ends up beating Deanna's AR it should NOT count.

Sally is the paragon of what a naturalized citizen should be. I hope she runs for us and pulls some hardware.
Given her nursing degree why not return home where she could do the most good for her own country, instead of running around in circles, here?
Cuz once foreigners get here they never go home.
Yes, she is a fine individual.

And once they become citizens of this country, they ARE home.
USA totally allows dual citizenship

No. She was already very successful in Kenya. The only reason why she moves to the US is to make more money. Certainly not to be a nurse.
The first part of this article from 2008 gives some insight into her motivation to become a nurse.
http://www.espn.com/college-sports/news/story?id=3434411I like Sally. But people running for one country in one OG then a different country in another OG is what makes this sport a joke
Who could it be???
