No wonder Symmonds can claim brooks doesn't use reduction clauses in their standard contract.

Brooks and Oiselle are no different than Nike, or New Balance. Everyone tries to pay as little as possible while touting that they support Athletes.
Sally claimed that she invested $300,000 in to Katie Grace in the past 4 years. I would love to see how that broke down, but I guess ms transparency wouldn't show us a thing.
Sally has to pay for that Yale education.
Was WADA there to verify the record? At least providing a sample shouldn't be a problem.
Also, the verification of thrown-off bottles looks a bit lacking. Pobably not a problem for Bellemore sincehis previous WR video verifies drain-off.
Point taken, but this is something different. Watch the video on trackie.com.
Corey's run time is sub 4 and he chugs 4 beers in +/- 34 seconds. He's a legit 800/1500 runner who clearly has beer drinking talent. Even a 3:46 miler would have to be able to chug 4 beers in a combined 48 seconds (12 seconds a beer - math assist for the typical LR board dweller) just to tie him. Nobody's doing that - not even Kiprop.
We are witnessing history in the making. Corey is the WR and GOAT.

Wait...it was NOT on a track?
It's on a track in a stadium. He destroys everyone. Really impressive. I guess the only thing we don't know is if he was finishing the beers, but honestly between the announcers, volunteers, video, etc. this event is higher quality that 99% of the beer miles out there, so it seems likely someone was verifying.
Watch the video, linked on page 2. Very good stuff.
I was at the meet, they collected and measured all of the bottles, and had a cool measuring cup. They measured in front of the whole field and every athlete got to see how much they were over/under. It was lead by Corey Gallagher, a former world champ/world record holder. It was transparent and legit.
I have to say that Corey's performance for the beer mile is just absolutely phenomenal to me. I can't get my head around someone running so fast while chugging 4 beers. To put it into perspective: he would be ahead of many American elite female runners just running a mile flat out.
This record is more impressive than El Guerrouj's mile time.
We are not far away from someone running sub-4 for the run...and sub 30 for the beers.But...the race is 40m short of running a mile.

Those are some crazy splits! If he can get his 3rd beer down to 5 seconds he'll be sub 4:30. Way to go!

I think he means because they walk between the mile line and the finish line while they drink their beers so each lap is only 390m of running and 10m of walking
That's right...the running part is 390m per lap, instead of 400m. That turns into 6.4 by the end...at 4 minute pace.

I concur with this. my mind is seriously blown. I can comprehend running 56's back to back to back, but there is no way in hell I can even imagine/sniff/comprehend running in the 4:30's for the beer mile. I thought it would be a decade before we saw 4:30's happen. wow, way to go Corey, nice work.

It's a full 400m on the last lap, 390m on the first 3.

Yes. Here it is with walking:
1st "lap": Walk 9 m / Run 390m / Walk 10 m
2nd lap: Run 390 m / Walk 10m
3rd lap: Run 390 m / Walk 10m
4th lap: Run 400 m
