Nope. The article said he jumped WITH no parachute

It is not about hanging on to somebody with a parachute. Holding on through opening shock is pretty much impossible.
Then explain me this crazy Russian (Finn/Karelian) who jumped without no shirt. He attached himself to his buddy using nothing but a string which he tied around his chest on the way down.
Whatever the method, same difference. He essentially grabbed ahold of someone else with a chute so as to not die.

I think he is Finnish. Anyway, I had not seen that video before.
I notice you edited the part of my post you quoted. I will go back to what I said then...chuteless jumps (prior to Luke Aiken) have been done by wearing a harness and hooking up i flight. That is what is going on here...he is using the string tied around his waist as a harness. Other chuteless jumps I've seen or known of had the jumper wearing a harness then attaching an emergency chute...this one had the jumper wearing a harness (of sorts) and then attaching to another jumper. With a caribeaner. He isn't just "holding on" through opening shock. I am still maintaining that is impossible at terminal speeds.
So, Luke Aiken possibly could have done this, if he had a harness and one of his friends had a caribeaner and they had planned that as an escape route. I have no knowledge of whether they did that or not. But it is certainly not as simple as "just hanging on".
That said, I'm a little bit suspicious that there is more going on in that video than is shown, because of the way the editing is done. That "harness" must have hurt like hell on opening.

He had that attached when he started. There was no tying on the way down.
