Colby ran 4:09 in HS and made footlocker finals but didn't do well there. He comes from a family of runners and has been known to have done more than his share of speed work even before HS. He has also had his share of injuries.
In college he was on NCAA champ DMR anchored by chez. He had some good races but injuries got the best of him.
He is also one of the guys who went to Europe and ran some "C" level 1500s but got mocked on these boards for running in bad euro meets instead of running at Houston.
Congrats Colby well done!
Don't be silly. Your inadequacies don't make me angry. I am not even disappointed for you. I had my shot and none of you had anything to do with it. If I ever had anything to be angry about it wouldn't be athletes, it'd be the organization.
You are all wrapped in the idea that the body is going to be fit and tuned the senior year in college. People don't mature that way. I grew an inch taller at 22. Put on 20 pounds.
You guys are all geared that the world is over after your senior year. In fact, it hasn't even started. I am sad for you, not angry at you.
If this guy wants to run fast until he is 35 then he can. A friend of mine ran 3:34 when Bayi set the world record. That was in 1974.
Pull your finger out. Free your mind and your ass will follow.
