You old fool. You should have hung it up before making such a shameful display. How could you?
Actually meant my contribution for the Colorado doping masters thread.
Sigh, face it, unless we are within 1 minute of the world record for our age guys like fred and the California boys will skewer us and make fun. And then you get trolls saying that we're taking drugs to run these times. And go figure a 2:34 marathon for 40 years old is now 'average' while high school runners going 4:01 to 4:05 for the mile are just not up today's standards. A 3:58 is a disappointment.
Anyway, congrats to Shalane Flanagan for a very fast half marathon. And congrats to the 50+ half marathoners.
The internet has reinvented running: run super-fast and you are doping; run believably fast and you are washed up. It's a flawless arrangement.

I agree. Who gets their thyroid "checked and fixed" after a big season???
Can anyone name a runner--just one--that has zero marks against him/her--no TUEs, no transfusions or "injections," or creams, gels, gummies, alleged microdosing, or GNC-purchased steriod? Is there even one such person? One with no dark cloud of gossip or suspicion? One?
Desiree Linden and Jared Ward
Well stated, Co58.

Ben True. Nick Willis.
Ben? you're kidding right?
i have absolutely no proof or insider info, but i'd bet manzano's clean.
also, as a california boy, am i supposed to skewer someone?
finally, even with the net downhill, i don't think it's a lightning fast course (not that i'd argue this should be a record-legal course either), but i've only run three 1/2 courses, so not much to go on.
that's all i've got for unsolicited and mostly ungrounded opinions for the day...
Thanks for the input, social cush...
Glad that you did not skewer any of us old/slow guys.

It is kind of sad that those are the only two of the six Americans that I would bet the farm are clean. The other four all raise questions.

It's up to the sports federation to bring some transparency to the sport. The IAAF is certainly content with how much doping they enable. USATF follows along, as a national federation should.
Linden and Ward are the two most plausibly clean athletes.
In part because they run at a level consistent with 70s and 80s performances.

What is questionable about Cragg?

I hope nothing. I'm just not willing to bet the house on her based on what I know about SOME of the BTC athletes.
I would bet 1,000$ on each of these athletes being clean:
Men:
Mead
Blankenship
Symmonds
True
Loxsom
Sowinski
Solomon
Jock
Mulder
Ward
Berian
Wheating
Jager
Meb
I know of at least 3 that you would lose on. Perception is however reality. Enjoy the sport and I won't mess it up for you.
RNR doesn't even spell her name right on their results.

Like who?
I know You would lose $4000 for sure. But you are not suppose to worry about who is clean or not. We all know the playing field is not level at the top so just enjoy the sport and the competition. And let athletes do what they want and what they can afford at their own risk. If you have money to buy drugs great if not too bad for you. If you have a manager that can cover for you great, if not and you get caught sorry. If you have a good connection and you are protected to get away with anything, good for you and if you get busted because you make one of them mad and you refuse to throw a kickback you are out of luck. I dont care what they do, all I care about is that they give me a good show and entertain me.
THATS WHAT DIACK WANTED and cared about too remember.
You better not bet.
