Is Ben True racing?

Some fast PRs in there. Maybe the 5k will be the highlight of the meet.
German FTW!
Hey doot doot, you are likely right about your scenario for the 10,000. But, I was under the impression in '14 that Stephen Sambu was perhaps paid to lead in this event (when Rupp set the AR).
In any case, I'm hoping that Sambu or perhaps those two fellas named BETT will do some leading. We'll see.
I'm the opposite of the anti-10,000 voices. I'll watch a top level 10,000 any time. Maybe it's 'cause I'm a bit of an old f#ck, having grown up watching the impossible Lasse Viren, Yifter, and other exciting runners.
I grew up worshiping front runners too, Ron Clarke, Emil Zatopek, and Puttemans. Even Alberto, who coaches kickers, was a bad-boy front runner who took no prisoners, heck he almost killed himself in the process!

Jenkins will be top American by....a lot of seconds.how could he not be?Derrick ran a 13:40's less than a month ago and German ran 28:00+. Those are pretty much their only races of the year.jenkins just ran 13:24 with a 55 last lap and has been very consistent. Also, check your facts, Eric Jenkins was 2nd in the NCAA's to Cheserek last year

jenkins over derrick in this race?
hard to say since it is openers for both and debut at 10000 for jenkins
I'd go with the veteran in this one - just because probably jenkins will be conservative in his debut at the distance.
probably for both goal one is to get a standard and goal 2 is to race.
you really are off shell tonight.

On paper, I agree with you.
In execution, based on the past 5 years, I couldn't disagree more.
I can just see it now. Pacemakers drop out. Mo slows it down. (Why even have pacemakers since no one actually plans to race a full 10,000 meters.. Why even have a 10k?) Mo blazes 400-800m. Wins in 27:05.
I hope I'm wrong. But after half a decade and a litany of disappointments I'm convinced no one intends to race fast times anymore. Except maybe Kamworor.
...and then complains about the slow time. Ridiculo.
Predicting the times of Jenkins and Fernandez: 27:40 - 27:50.

Really? Pretty sure Mo wants a pr and the fact that there are "lesser" runners here is actually a good thing for that. Sometimes the reason races go slow is that Mo is focused on the competition and doesn't want to waste his energy leading the other guys. We may see him make a move from 1600-2k out in order for him to get his record.

Seeing as the WR holder is running, I'll take Yator for the win.
What does this even mean?
I'll believe it when I see Mo put some skin in the game. I think there is virtually 0 chance that Mo hits the front with 1600-2000 to go and pushes the pace. If he hits the front that soon I would bet dollars the pace dawdles.
Pretty sure the last time he time trialed he bitched about the pacemakers (who did quite well...) not towing him far enough or some other shit.
Did Ventolin finally get banned and is now posting under a new name?

Mo asked for 13:15-20 last year and received 13:22-25 I believe. Meaning he had a lot if work to do the second half. Sorry but the pacers did quite poorly.

God forbid he have to work to make up seven seconds over those five thousand meters. I guess when you only time trial once in your career that's a monumental burden.

Sort of , he wanted them to go out faster through 5k he wanted 13:10 and he got like 13:20-30
He basically needed Galen Rupp as a pace maker

All I am saying is that if you want to run a fast time, a pacer makes a big difference. He had no idea what to expect from Kam and knew Tanui was strong. This leaves two questions. 1) why do all of the work and possibly sacrifice the win if Kam turns out to be a bigger threat than initially thought. 2) If Kam is such a big man with supposed front running style, why didn't he take it up. Only Farah ends up being critiqued for not running fast/ front running. Every race that he is in that is tactical has a dozen other men who also didn't have the balls to race hard from the gun. I'm not even particularly fond of Mo, but why does everyone go after him when there are guys like Ndiku or Hagos that sit and kick 9 times out of 10? It's all sour grapes. Farah is number 1 right now, so everyone is going to complain about him until he is done. If he runs 26:30 tonight people will still complain.
