Also, to those people calling out LCSC for having runners run fast one year and then get hurt and drop off, get all the facts first. Dave marks got hurt in an accident completely unrelated to running and then fought his way back into shape and placed 5th his senior year of cross, beating some studs. Jimmy Oribo was hurt his senior year, but everyone gets an injury at some point, and he tore it up until that happened...would have been an all american indoors if they did 8 places like they do now and he got shafted in the outdoor 10k and had to run all alone. Pauric McLaughlin ran 4:09 his junior year indoors at nationals and took 2nd, had his best XC season of his college career as a senior, and then wasn't huge indoors or outdoors for reasons other than injury or burnout. As for myself, you probably didn't know that I took a year off after my freshman year for family reasons and put on 20 lbs from lifting and never got back down to the 140lbs I should have been. Still improved every year though and had an all-american track season last year. Only reason I'm not getting it done this outdoors is because I made the decision to run through something during XC that is still lingering...no fault of Michael Collins or this program. Over the past decade we have seen continued success and improvements all over...have there been injuries and runners that "underperformed" at times? Yes. But many of the cases in which this happened were not because of poor coaching or training. If you have any questions or comments...please let me know and I will set the record straight.
