Looked like top 2 were 8:50 at 3200 so 416 then 434. CHase pack is 13 seconds behind that with the lousiville guy midway between them.

So if you were watching that epic men's 3k at USAs and missed the beginning of the 5k at NCAAs, Curtin took it out in 61 for the first 400. The top 3 were clear of the field by 800.
Now it's just Curtin and Cheserek . The chase pack was running 70s during the first mile.
416 at the mile for top two and 427 for chase pack.
Kudos for Curtin for making Ches work for it a little.
Thanks. Keep the play by play coming please.
Cheserek took the lead with 400 to go and went 28.4-29.3 to get the win. The chase pack almost caught Curtin but he held on for a much deserved 2nd. Kibichiy - the only other guy to go with it - almost got lapped.
Field slowly started closing on Ches and Curtin, Ches woke up and hit the gas with 2 laps to go. Cruised it in for an easy 13:47, Curtin held on for 2nd, then Murphy and Futsum
Murphy is the most underrated 5 /10 k runner in the country.
How boring was that M 5k?
(Hint: Very.)
Clayton Murphy talks after his heat #1. He said he never contemplated running the mile here. He's got experience in the event and wanted to face the best in the 800. He said Brazier's exit doesn't make him feel a lot more confident as the field is loaded:
Is it time for female 5000 yet?
It looks like king ches is doing the DMR!!!! The oregon training staff and Andy Powell were waiting for him track side after the 5k ended. THey helped untie his spikes and put on his trainers and off he went!!
The awards lady said, "He needs to go to awards for the 5k now." they told her, "He has another race.""
Here is a picture of them rushing cheserek to change his gear.
Notre Dame women are alternating the lead in the wome'ns 5k. 4:53 at 1600.

WheN I got here, the NCAA media rep told me that they had received some complaints from coaches about the quality of our interviews. They had credentialed us but we should be careful as we might not get credentialed outdoors.
I was like, "Our interviews are always professional. I assume a coach is upset about the messageboard. That's ridiculous. We are credentialed at the Olympics and I've dedicated 15 years of my life to covering this sport."
She said she wasn't sure but maybe that was it and she'd try to find out.
I then talked to a source who told me the executive committee of NCAA coaches had talked about not credentialing any website that had an anonymous messageboard. One coach was leading the charge.
So your right to express yourself is in jeopardy.
Coaches, if you have a problem with the messageboard, we publicly post our emails and phone numbers. Give us a call and we'll look into it. If you do something bad and people talk about it, don't blame me.
Hey, Mr. Gault, rocks.
If he ran the place, it'd have quality and distinction.
The World's Most Interesting Runner, was award winning, great,
entertaining stuff. And, he can write.

Noooo where?
Woah.
Saying Allie. O hadn't run in the last TWO weeks.
Reason being knee pain, apparently that flared up..combined with doing nothing for two weeks.
More updates please!
When the camera cut to Allie after she stepped off the track, her upper right thigh was covered in bruises. What gives? That's a bit concerning....
