I'm hoping this thread was a joke, but I am going to answer it seriously anyway.
I train with Christian almost every day. I see the workouts he does, the food he eats (lots), the people he hangs out with....I see the monsterous $400 checks he brings home after driving 500 miles round trip to run a Jamba Juice race in San Fran etc....
Christian doesn't even have enough money to fix the crushed fender on his Toyota that a truck hit more than a year ago. EPO is expensive guys, real expensive. More expensive than a fender for a Toyota, more expensive than weeks worth of his road-whoring winnings. Its absolutely ridiculous to think he'd spend thousands of dollars that he doesn't have on something he doesn't need. Christian is the quintissential starving artist. He drives around the state, winning a few bucks here and there to support himself. He survives off of talent and desire and love of the sport. He has family in Albuquerque, and doesn't associate with Eddy.
He ran 18:30something last year on the central park course and ran 18:28 this year. Not a big improvement guys. He ran 3:40 several years ago for 1500m, his second year running the distance (talent). He's run 13:58 (not in trainers) for 5000m. He used to be a national caliber triathlete as a junior. My point is that he is an exceptionally talent white boy who is trying to make a few bucks and have a good time in this sport. He's got more ability and character than most of us will ever have.
Besides, look at the guy. If he's using any drugs it probably should be Zantrex or something along those lines. I think Christian losing 20lbs would do more for him than EPO, steroids, bat guano, asian hornet juice, and dingleberries combined.
If any of you, John Molvar included, care to further discuss this, please email me. Nothing bothers me more than to see a good friend and genuine asset to the running community needlessly slandered on a public message board.
