Relax, you guys. I'm the one who originally posted the "bitch frosting" comment. I was only kidding; don't get your panties in a twist.
On another note, I just posted this in another thread. For all of you saying that Jenny rabbited Shannon to the AR (including the LRC front page), know that Jenny would have used Shannon in the same exact way:
If you watch the race again, neither Jenny nor Shannon wanted to lead after the second pacemaker. They ran side by side for almost the whole first lap. Jenny finally slotted in behind the pacemaker around the finish line. I think that Jenny wanted to ride the Shannon train just as much as Shannon wanted to ride the Jenny train. It's called tactics.
I think Jenny should have gone with Hassan and Dibaba. Hassan ran bravely, even though she probably knew that she'd die. She was "exploring new territory" as I saw mentioned in relationship to Kiprop. That's ballsy. Jenny did not "explore new territory," she just tried to win the pack race.
I assumed you had to be kidding, that's why I thought it was hilarious. And had you not been kidding, well, sometimes you just have to roll your eyes and laugh.
I agree with your analysis of the race, I think that Rowbury gained the extra second from generally staying on Simpson's shoulder, whilst Jenny was in a relatively non decisive position.
It was tough for Simpson, she might not have felt that going with Hassan from the gun was realistic, however, she was then detached and doing most of the work with Rowbury able to follow, (nothing wrong with that in my opinion).
I believe that Simpson would have been able to go with Hassan, Simpson will learn a thing or two from how this race panned out.
Rowbury got it spot on and ran a great, great time.
