Damn, would have been great to see Heath catch Rupp for 3rd there.

it must be awesome to live a life where you actively root for others to lose so that you can feel good about yourself. so fulfilling.
And yet another honest race on the women's side —the 10K, steeple, and 5K have all been great match-ups & fast.

People want to see the king go down. In every sport. Especially when the king has every scientific and medical advantage over everyone else. Ryan Hill is a MFIN boss.

+1
Another LRC a-hole sitting at his comp and talking smack about the best runners we have

Great to see Rupp lose. But did he tank it on purpose?
No, but he waited too long.
I expected him to take off with 2k to go, and after that his chances diminished.

It's called an upset and it's what people all over the world often cheer for in sporting events.
Rupp got sat on. Went to the lead too quick. Let that be a lesson for you youngsters.
(reposted from gas chambered original thread)
another thought....Hill and True (as well as torrence, heath, etc.) probably tapered way harder for this meet than Rupp. Its a pretty safe bet for Galen that he can train through a bit and get top 3 in both events. For someone like True who hasn't made a world team, he'd be stupid not to taper hard.
Underdog wins are as American as TUE-enhanced overdog wins. It is valid to enjoy either one.
Similarly, I am still loving those empty seats! Good job, TrackTown. Your constant mockery of other towns for failing to fill the seats at championships, including Ken Goe mentions in past articles, now has a glaring contradiction.

It doesn't seem crazy to me. NBC is free to anyone in AMerica. Why wouldn't they want it on national tv than on the INternet?
BECAUSE THEY DON'T SHOW THE FREAKING EVENTS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
And because their coverage sucks, interjecting trash and commercials right in the middle of races that they happen to show parts of.
Gutted for Heath. Really wanted him to make a team.
Also, does anyone think Loming should go back to the mile/1500?

Yes. I am so happy they didn't have the 5000 on tv. Because it was on the internet stream, we got to see the entire race. If it was on tv they would have shown the first 2000m live, then gone to commercial, then shown field events, then come back with 1000m to go. We want the whole race!
This race was perfect evidence that Rupp and Lagat would would have had no impact whatsoever in the 1500 - as claimed in another thread. No matter what their training.
Nike PR instructed Rupp to take third. Whatever else, the kid sure takes prescription...er, direction well.
Heath needs to get out of the hunchback and use his arms properly or he'll forever be the guy who gets mowed down in the last 100.
I feel Galen would have had a better shot at winning if he went with 4 or 5 laps to go or just waited until 400. Not saying I wasn't satisfied with the result. Just wish Heath could've nipped him at the line.
You can see the way Flanagan and Rupp ran 2 1/2 days is not enough time to recover after a very hot 10k.
