Renato, thank you for the info! It sounds like Geoffrey has the right idea in mind and is being cautious about a long season with several peaks. It is exciting that you believe him to be in 26:40 shape despite training through. Any chance you could provide us with details of a recent training session?Like others have said, I just hope something crazy happens in this race. I look forward to seeing Geoffrey battling with Farah & Rupp this summer!

Geoffrey doesn't have the standard for WCh, and the main reason because runs in Eugene is to achieve the limit.
At the moment he's not in top shape, since is working very hard for increasing his speed, and didn't have any tapering, looking at Eugene (don't forget he has to qualify in Kenyan Trials, at 16 July, and this is another 10000m very hard, so it's not possible to have the best shape at the beginning of June, at half of July and on 22nd of August).
Secondly, I don't think he wants to discover all his cards, meeting Mo Farah.
However, he can run under 26'40" also in the current confition.
I think we will see a split of about 13'22" / 13'25" at 5 km, with the last 4-5 laps very fast, and this is the best solution for Mo, not for Geoffrey. But, I repeat,Geoffrey is a very clever and educated person, and in Eugene he wants to study Mo for understanding how he can try to defeat him in WCh.
About the HM of Geoffrey, I don't consider too much his PB, but the way he ran last year for winning WHMCh in Copenhagen : he ran the last 10 km, alone after attacking at 11th km, under 27'10", and this can clearly demonstrate he is an athlete able running around 26'30" or better, with a good launch of the race.
