LEONARD Korir gets the win.
Very much not Wesley.
Looking at the tracking results, Bumbi top american? And what happened to Teg the last 5k?

Did he really run a 71:13??????
Wow, that might be the most egregious example of utter incompetence by a broadcast team that I've seen during a road race. They were referring to the winner as Wesley Korir minutes after the win. Mary Wittenberg was in the booth. She doesn't have enough involvement with the elites to know that there is more than one person named Korir in the race? She obviously doesn't recognize the elite athletes. No one on the broadcast team is checking splits to see that the name is Leonard? The NCAA should see if this broadcast team is available to count laps at the next indoor championship.
Wow! This race might have some ramifications for the 2016 Olympic Trials. Shows Bumbalough has some strength. Not on Rupp's 60:30, contending for the win, level, but superior (on this day) to Meb, Teg, and Ritz, all of whom will be targeting the Olympic Trials in the Marathon. I think this is an indication that Bumbi should go for either the 10,000 or the Marathon. Great debut for him.

They were interviewing someone and in the background I thought I saw Teg cross the line, but the clock was at over 1:10 so I figured it couldn't be him.
Who is Leonard? wrote:

That was Carrie Tollefson. I don't think Mary was in the booth.
It was egregious because they had access to Live Tracking and should have known Wesley (who they identified correctly earlier in the race and gave some history) was not the same guy and was wearing a different kit.
In yesterday's Gate River Run, Tim Hutchings misidentified Christo Landry for the early part of the race but that was likely because the feed he was watching was blurry and he was likely being given the wrong name by somebody.
I would love to know what happened to Teg. Injured? Fell?
Are there any results? Link to?
Cannot find them anywhere

past prime.
Ahem....

Molly has poor race strategy, like most Americans - if you can't win the race, win some early miles.

Excuse my ignorance but what happened to Wesley Korir? Earlier I saw him wearing a blue singlet with a bib that says "Wesley" but now he (or someone else?) is in a black singlet with a "Korir" bib?
Haha...you my friend are smarter than the announcers.
Results can be found here for top twenty, men and women, about four tweets down:https://twitter.com/ChrisLotsbom

Yeah, if you're going to smugly mock someone in a condescending manner, like you know better than the people in the thick of the action, you need to at least be reminded of your moronic statements and complete lack of credibility.
From the sounds of it, it was a fantastic race strategy by Molly. But even if she hadn't won, she was at least trying to control the race, and anyway, somebody has to lead. Is whoever is in the lead automatically stupid?

Frustrated!! Felt great, Hit 3 to go, took 1 step & the right calf seized up. Jogged it in! Happy for .@abumbalough #nychalf
Molly Huddle is a MF Bad A$$! Every one of us should be so proud of her and elated at that kind of race, and that she was able to win doing so much work! Can't wait for this summer!

Unfortunately, I think Molly will pay for front-running on a windy day. On the other hand, Ritz, Meb, and Teg are all racing smartly. LOL at the announcers speculating whether a world record will be set.

Someone's forgetting Diego Estrada
The Estrada fans are out en force today. My post had nothing to do with Estrada. The people I referenced were in the race today. Estrada will be one of the ones competing for a spot with Bumbi, if he runs the marathon. Didn't say he was a lock for a spot by any means.

I stayed up to about 3 am for the second night in a row providing NCAA coverage so I didn't watch the race. I read this and just started laughing so hard.
I don't understand why these races spend hundreds of thouands on a race but then don't bother with a statistician.
