I noticed you only sought autographs from white runners. Kinda hard to do at a track meet.
Nice observation - hadn't even noticed that. Though to be fair, my daughters favorite athlete of the day was Alysia Montano due to her yellow flower and that she held up her little 6 month old during her interview. Unfortunately we didn't make it to the picture line in enough time to meet her.

Out of respect to OP and his daughter, I'll refrain from responding to this post as I would like. I'll just apologize to the OP and again thank him for bringing this post to us and bringing us all, a bit of joy and smiles.
Stop rallying behind the OP to explain your inaction. Just say you are too lazy, or simply can't compose your thoughts in an intelligent manner so you'd rather just not say anything, as that would be more accurate.

\ I'd love to see some type of athlete meet and greet zone at the Icahn Stadium this summer for the Diamond League meet. There's gotta be some ways to fill up that stadium other than having Bolt race.
That place filled up for Yohan Blake. Very funny seeing loads of Jamaicans walk away dejected after waiting for a 10 second race.
New York DL is great though. Dream Mile is always fun, and they manage to put together pretty good races (though nothing like Pre or Monaco). I would still say it wouldn't be worth flying to Oregon to see the Pre meet. NYDL Millrose, and maybe some Boston meets are enough.
A meet and greet area would be great though. The stadium doesn't have a great set-up for that but I want to shake some hands.
That's great, thanks for sharing!
Nice to see Centro and others being sweet.
My daughter had similar experiences with Shannon years ago and she still talks about it. She's a real sweetheart and very caring.
I was hoping it would inspire my daughter into the sport, but she has stayed in gymnastics for now...
nice to read something so positive and hearing all the athletes were nice, yes that was pretty cool!
Love the post. I was anticipating a negative post as well. I too enjoyed the track meet this past weekend, though I will admit I felt it was a little slow. I appreciate that at big meets like Penn and Drake that they keep the action coming and dont let the intro's drag everything on.
Awesome!!! Great to hear! I have a 2 year old & she's been to lots of meets & loves them. It was easy though since she was so young, I just held her. I've wondered how she'll like the meets in the coming toddler years, so this gives me hope! Thank you!
Track and Field needs to be organized sport for kids like little league. That could be an awesome market for track.
What should i pace myself for in a 10k road race based off a 5k track time trial? Double and add 3-4 minutes? I honestly have no idea. Im a former sprinter
