So I watched a majority of the nominated films this year and I have to say that the only real snub I saw was Jake Gyllenhaal in Nightcrawler. He was perfect for the role and really got in the mind of someone who was insane. I don't think he should have won but it would have been nice to see a nomination.
I agree that I expected something more from Boyhood but I can't help but want to go back and watch it again. As someone in my early 20's it really kinda hits home that that part of my life is over and I won't be getting it back.
I really need to watch Birdman again. Difficult to describe to people who ask but when it ends you can't help but be smiling. The camera work was brilliant and the characters were all done very very well.
I missed The Imitation Game and the Grand Budapest Hotel but heard great things so will most likely see them soon.
Interstellar winning Best Visual Effects was spot on. That thing was something else.
Overall I didn't think it was too bad of a show, especially with Gaga killing her performance. Very cool.
And it's difficult to politely roast these people during an awards show; yes it could have been done better but NPH did just fine and rolled with situations rather well.
