Michael Johnson, articulate, knows about preparation, astute, organized, dealing with pressure, knows when to quit, the best!
drinking with dead people can be fun. I've been to some good small parties in the cemetary.
I would drink with a dead Zatopek or living Dragila.

Without a doubt, Ed Eyestone.
Good call. Ed's a great guy. I'd go with Don (Dingy) Kardong. Funny as hell, great running stories, and we could compare knee surgeries.
Jack Foster and I had planned to have a beer together if we were ever in the same country at the same time. So I suppose if I could choose, I'd keep Jack from being killed and we'd have that beer.
I'd also pick Ron Clarke, but he doesn't drink beer.
Bruce, without a doubt (although I would hope he would drag Quenton down from the cabin along with him)!
Anna Kournikova, hand(s) down...
With Anna, do you think you could keep your "hand(s) down?"

Since when was she an athelete?
How about Lasse Viren? Maybe if you got him drunk enough you could learn the secret to winning the 5k, 10k, and taking 6th (?) in the marathon in one olympic games.
I saw Bill Rogers the the Adidas Boston Indoor Clasic two years ago and he was sitting right next to me in the cheeps seats. Just the meet quitely. The race director waled by and did a double take when he saw Bill sitting there. He quickly grabbed him and escourted him in to the premium seats. The best thing was Bill didn't care. He was having a good time just watching the meeting where he was. Like any track fan he didn't mind moving to the good seats but he was just happy to be seeing some good races.
paul pilkington
I was surprised no one has said Steve Jones. But then again, we all have probably already HAD a beer or eight with him.
I would be mighty shocked if Paul had a beer with you, as my former Coach I know him to be staunchly Mormon and a Bishop in the LDS church. Nice chap though...

Does not wanting my kids to watch a bisexual threesome at the Olympics make me a bigot?
