centrowitz with a huge move to move up between 300m-200m to go, but then looked flat for the finish.
3.32.7 for Centro
i would say that's a pretty promising result considering his uncharacteristic poor positioning
less than a second off his PR
ran smart and somewhat conservative, though still competitive
he'll probably be upset and people will critique his hanging back, swinging wide, etc, but for how the race unfolded his end time was pretty good
expect better things later this year for sure
Maybe a little slower than a lot of LetsRun wanted Centro to go but consider how poorly he positioned himself from the start, and then especially over the last 400, decent time.
A new Kenyan star: Ronald Kwemoi!!!
Kenyan champ really looked good that last 100m.
Everyone together with 200 to go for those of you who couldn't watch it. Kwemoi was great the last 100. He seizded the lead and didn't give it up.
3:32.7 for Centrowitz. Ran a poor tactical race. He was in the back the entire way and when the entire field is in front of you at the bell almost it is going to be hard to move up.
Centro 3:32.70
Pretty good time but very actically poor race for Matt. Sat at the back running the exact same speed as everyone else ahead of him. They fanned out like this:
x\
xx\
xxx\
xxxx\
MATT
400 to go matt has to go around all those guys and no one was letting him through. Wouldn't be surprised if that cost him a second. Seemed like he used all his energy to get any sort of position on the backstretch of the last lap and didn't have much to go for it.
Honestly, his last lap was probably quite fast and the reason he had no chance to win the race was he sat at the back and didn't make any effort o move up until 1100m in.
3:32 though, not a bad time.

3:32:70. Horrible positioning.
Should have stayed in on the homestretch instead of swinging wide but how was he supposed to know that the two guys in front of him would finish faster than him leaving the space open.
If you mean that he shouldn't have gone out so far back in the field, what else was he supposed to do? Go out in 54 and 1:50?

We do get paid if you sign up with Dishworld. We are very upfront about that. It is a great service and is the only supported way to watch the meet from a non-pirated stream in the US I believe if you are not a Universal Sports subsriber. I don't think people watching pirated streams helps the sport.
Universal Sports is a good partner of ours as well.

I missed the race out of streaming issues. Did something happen to him during the race? OUCH that is not a time you want on paper at a DL meet.
Gatlin 9.79 unofficially. Legal wind. Gay 2nd!
lol Centro skips the US champs and gets creamed in the DL. Could have seen this a mile away. Or 1500 meters away I guess.
And wow JUSTIN MF GATLIN!!!

So, is this better than potentially being the 2014 US champ?
Official: Gatlin 9.80, Gay 9.93
Gatlin wins in 9.80, very wind legal. Wow
I'd be curious to see a split on Centro's last lap.
tactically poor? they were like 151 for 800? id say he ran pretty smart and within himself, it just ended up being crowded and unfortunately he ran a lot of the last lap on the outside. but going out at WR pace wouldnt be his race.
chalk this one up to experience, he still ran very well and to me certainly justified skipping USAs
