2:06:45. Not his best time but his best marathon.
2:06:45 on a windless Boston day would equal about a 2:05:00 London. That would put Hall near Kipsang level!
2:09:15. Gapped at 16 by the leaders, hangs on for 3rd.

WTF, brosjo? First you're double posting my threads, and now you're cutting them in half. Too much Boston excitement?
Just be happy they haven't retitled your thread or hijacked it or deleted it because they decided to start one on the same thing.

I'll guess 2:06:58.
I'm sad to say that my prediction is:
DNS: 25%
DNF: 30%

Let's see, based on what I've seen him do the last couple times in the BAA Marathon, I'll predict the following:
1- He will go out with the leaders, and in fact, will take THE lead of the entire race for the first 4+ miles.
2- He will be gobbled up in the pack by 6 miles, and will begin to slip off the back by 9.
3- He will be out of focus on the T.V. by 13, but will still find enough energy to do the idiotic hand-to-the-ear thing as he runs by the girls at Wellsley.
4- He will maintain a steady pace in 11th or 13th place until about 18 miles.
5- He will begin a surge, that is admirable, but way way too late. He will finish just under 2:10 and barely make the top 7 overall, but will finish as a the first American.
6- He will be interviewed and give God credit for everything in his life, and will be confident that he will return and be a winner in his next attempt.
7- Three days later he will announce that God is no longer his coach.
Besides the London Olympics, which marathons has Hall started but not finished?
Top 3.
For a little dose of reality.....
2:09:13, good for about 2:07:45 at London or Chicago. Not his best Boston, but still close. Proves he's the fastest current american marathoner. *maybe* not the best racer (Meb), but certainly the fastest.
note: I'd say any sub 2:09:30 effort would be better than Ritz's 2:07 in Chicago. Honestly, anything sub 2:10 would be impressive.
I did see one prediction in here that is guaranteed 100% correct. If Hall does win, LRC will crash ... repeatedly ... And the "board gnomes" will have a hell, (oops, heck - sorry Ryan) of a busy day.
He runs a boring 2:14:23 and was never really a factor. After the race he says that he had an injury that hampered him.
I consistently vote DNS in all Ryan Hall threads.
There's still plenty of time for his announcement.
2:09:35
My prediction: Ryan Hall will not cross the Boston Marathon finish line.
Hall will run 2:12:32 because that is what I have in my plans.
It's pretty much pointless to predict times until we know the wind direction, but here's how I see it going down: Hall runs with Kimetto and Desisa through halfway, fades, and is caught by Meb on Boylston; the two cross the finish line holding hands. Kimetto breaks Desisa around Coolidge Corner and wins easily.
2:06:03
I don't recall which race it was, I think 2006, but one of Robert Cheriuyot's 207's (not the same guy who ran the 205) was in very warm temps with little to virtually no wind and at the time it was extremely impressive.
DNF
Diarrhea at mile 9 calling it right now.
What has his training been like?
