I could get an Ipad or any number of very expensive things but I just don't want to. My standards for "good living" are way below most first world people to be fair. And I'm happy with how I live. And I know others are happy with 60 inch televisions and 100+/month cable plans. That's legit. Just not for me.
However, I do live below the poverty line, FYI. I subsist on less than the handout people but I've lived without running water and reliable electricity so that is a different frame of reference.
