Did it feel nice to outkick your daughter this time?

Been out for 8 months from injury and am a good 20 pounds overweight so I'm fairly satisfied with the time. Just running again feels good.
How old are you? I'm very impressed if you are packing on 20 pounds. I mean I way 20 pounds more than when I raced but i wouldn't say I'm 20 pounds overweight as I was probably at least 15 pounds underweight when racing.
I'm 23.
By 20 pounds overweight I do mean over a good raceweight. At 5'8" I'd be looking at 140 or so for my racing, and am around 160 right now.
First 10 were in the first month, as I basically did what Lagat has said he does with taking a month off and just eating whatever (i thought it was minor groin strain that would go away, so figured it was a good time for an off month to recharge)...which in my case is always ALOT. I wouldn't be at all surprised if I routinely eating 3000-4000 calories a day in that first month.
My real race results...or my Letsrun race "results"?
Oh I won and set a new record.
Won a suburban 4-miler in 20:57. Fairly hilly course this year so happy with the time. Can't argue with the hardware either
18:01 - 5k in pouring rain. Third overall, first age group (55+). Might have scraped under 18:00 but three right angled turns in last 200m, and did see the clock until 30m out.
Got an 86% age graded, so pretty happy.
Amazing. Laughed for a solid 5 minutes.
17:35 5K. 3rd. Dumb.
18:00
Negative split...was planning on running tempo pace but got carried away in the last mile.
Felt good to sprint at the end like the elites always seem to do from a lap or two out.

I also love how everyone has an excuse for their time. "Oh it was a hilly course, or Oh I was out with an injury, or Oh I was only running tempo pace..." Rather than just posting the result.

I certainly was not trying to outkick her, in fact I was waiting for her to outkick me since I practically shuffled my way to the finish.
I've always told my kids, if they can beat my 5k PR (which wasn't today), I would pay them a 100 bucks.

If the record was 42:28, then it wasn't broken.
The previous record was actually 43:21 (not 42:28 or 43:28). Good job, turkey leg!

Ran in West Virginia. I partially puked. It was coming up and I started gagging like crazy. I couldn't take the heat after that, just held on until the last 100m or so and sprinted like it was the 100m final. Worst race of my life. Finished 11th or so.

A hole of this country
One of my friends got wasted and ran a midnight 5K pretty slowly while pacing and cheering on a bunch of girls.
One of my female friends ran an 18:07 at midnight and was reasonably happy with it but said that there was some drunk a$$hole who kept yelling at her to run faster and that she finally lost him, thank god.
Turns out the two first friend was the drunk a$$hole.
