Hahahaha I don't care what people are saying criticizing each other for the offensive jokes on this thread I think it's hilariously. So many good one liners and comment exchanges I've been laughing my a** off. To get to the thread topic though, just another classic Salazar move, clearly Farah is not in shape to compete as shown by his last few months of performances so they pull the old sickness trick that only fools the fanboys like A Duck. How naive can you be to not realize that every time there is a good chance to get whooped or caught for doping some mysterious ailment appears? Open your eyes fools
Tom Jordan said it yesterday on Steve Tannen's SportsTalk radio show around 4 pm on 95.3 FM The Score in Eugene. He also mentioned that Mo might drop down to the 1500m and still participate. I was driving and heard him say it myself.
You could probably email Jeff Oliver, Press Chief for the meet at
if you want official confirmation.

Mo Farah faces Kenenisa Bekele in Eugene Diamond League
DIAMOND LEAGUE: EUGENE
Venue: Hayward Field, Eugene, USA Date: Friday 31 May-Saturday 1 June
Double Olympic champion Mo Farah races world record holder Kenenisa Bekele over 10,000m at the Diamond League meeting in Eugene on Saturday.
Britain's Farah, who won 5,000m and 10,000m gold at the London Games, also triumphed in Eugene last year over the shorter distance.
Ethiopian legend Bekele is a triple Olympic champion but finished fourth in the 10,000m final in London.
Farah and Bekele have met twice over 10,000m, with Farah winning both times.
Mo still has to prove he's truly fit, but so does Bekele.
Yes, Bekele is at least equal the best ever, but he has done nothing to show he can follow a sub 13:20 pace in a 10,000 this year. I don't think he's in sub 26:40 shape at all.
Mo or not, it will be a great race with a lot of talent. For example, who knows what Merga will be doing? He ran well at XC worlds. Here come the elbows!

Some people do not have a sense of humor, as far as posts go on the message boards, this has been very benign thread. Classic from Salazar, Mo's opponents are wondering, will he run, won't he run.
I still demand a BroJos op-ed if Mo does not show up. They are the number one Mo fanboys, and their hypocrisy will be be exposed if they do not criticize him.
You all are ridiculous. Athletes are human too, they get sick.
How come nobody cares if I drop out of a 10k...oh wait it's because I'm 15 :)
Bingo.

If this rumor is even true...
But yes, if Farah isn't running I am sure it will be for a legitimate reason. This is the PR opportunity of a lifetime for him. If he's ever going to run close to 26:30, this may be it.
As stated on the front page, he is still on the 10,000 start list. The Prefontaine Meet web site updated today confirms this. Wait and see.
There is not one American in the 10,000. I guess everyone has a qualifier?

All the Americans know that 10th place at US Nationals will be sub 27:00 so they know the team will all get the qualifiers there.
All of you guys are idiots if you believe salazar is running a clean program. If i had to guess, I would have to say geb, bekele, koman, el g, and yes.. mo farah and your precious boy galen rupp all benefited directly or indirectly from some questionable/illegal substance(s). So all this bs about "my favorite athlete is clean and your favorite athlete is dirty" is pure childish and nonsense. Now with that being said, if this is true, there's no reason why mo should run this race. There's nothing wrong with a guy pulling out if he feels he's not properly fit or race sharp. Running for times is cool but for me they're just like "stats" in team sports. People don't really care about "stats" that much they just want to know how many championships you won.
geb, bekele, koman, el g, and yes.. mo farah
every one of em doped
el g was amazing but the reality is they waz all doped
letsrun posters can shoot down the truth coz they want to believe

Maybe I should have been an editor.

As of now, he is on the 5000m the start list, not the 10,000m one.

Utterly sad that not a single American will run the 10k at Hayward. I guess everyone is being cautious ahead of USATF Nationals, but come on people.

The only thing that suprises me is that it leaked this early. I expected it to come about 24 hours before the race.
Great call from page 1 of this thread. We are now within the window of tickets bought and all of the pre race buzz being published. Pull out today and allow Ken Goe a chance to write about it one more time.
The pathetic part is that so many people believed that Mo was ever going to run the 10. This was about as far fetched as Rupp in the marathon trials. I guess it shows how gullible the fan base is.
Well...Mo vs Lagat, Galen, and a bunch of other fast dudes is still a pretty good race. Mo v Kenenisa has the potential to be awesome...but to be honest I think I would enjoy it even more with confirmation that both are in killer shape.
