Saksa's my darkhorse pick for the mile. Split 2:08-2:01 three weeks back. Sullivan should be the favorite.
Sparks and Wintheiser look like they're more focused on outdoors (Wintheiser didn't make nationals). I think Easker is my pick.

Three guys from Haverford in 5k could work well together
It doesn't matter if they have three guys in the 5k. There is no benefit from teammates in a championship race. That is only helpful in time trial type races. Regardless, I hope one of those guys wins.
Steven's Point FTW in the DMR. You heard it here first.

It will be quite a challenge for saska to win an event he's not entered in.
Is there a link for live results? Can't find it at the north central website
Wondering if anybody has a schedule for the meet.

Why are there 15 girls at nationals and only 13 guys?
Both dmrs were kinda boring for me to watch. Based on the relative quiet on this thread since the dmrs last night, does anyone else feel that people just don\'t really care about this event?
I thought it was a pretty exciting race. The exchange zone looked like the WWE.
I thought it was a pretty exciting battle on the men's side, with lacrosse, geneseo, tufts going at each other and then others like haverford and MIT coming and going throughout the race.
multiple teams had people give up open races to go for the DMR (last year even more so than this year actually), and the overall atmosphere was pretty electric, so I don't think its fair to say that people "just don't really care."

As far as I can tell, Wintheiser only ran two indoors races, the MIAC 3000, which he won in a controlled 8:39, and an 800 leg in the relay. Hopefully he hasn't been dealing with injuries.
Looking at his first season, he ran plenty of indoor races with unexceptional results (even the 8:32 3k was not amazing in the context of his following XC season).
Outdoors he only ran the 1500, which suggests there were issues with injuries. I'm guessing the coach is playing it conservatively this year and gearing up for something special outdoors. His runner-up showing in XC obviously proves his talent, and I'd think he's capable of at least a sub-14:15 in a hard, evenly paced race.
DMR was amazing to watch. La Crosse ran awesome, and I was impressed by how well Tufts ran. Great race all around.
Cazzola is a freakin beast, btw. Never saw her run before, but that was a great anchor leg.
#1 mile guy Brian Saksa (4:09.64) was not entered. Man, that St. Olaf coach really does not give a shit about indoors does he. I'd think Saksa would be pissed to miss an opportunity for an indoor championship.
Sorry, was looking at wrong list, Saksa was ranked #2 behind Dan Sullivan (4:08.76 Wis-Stevens Point).
Saksa sustained some sort of injury in the conference championship mile race and sat out day 2 of that meet as well. He was hurt for the first half of last cross season too, so they're probably going to err on the side of caution. He can easily be a sub-3:50 guy outdoors if healthy.
He was hurt but still won in 4:14, impressive. Hopefully that means he will be 100% again in a few weeks.
