The idea that Lance cost people money is laughable. So many entities made money on Lance it's not even funny. He was a cash cow for Nike, for instance.

You don't understand the whole story.
NFL players don't destroy people's lives over doping.
Lance destroyed people's lives through ruining their reputation in the industry and by ruining them financially.
99.9% of high level athletes dope and everyone knows it.
But most high level athletes don't destroy other people's lives over doping. Lance did, and that is why people have a problem with him.
Its not about being wrong or right, or whats moral.... life is about like or dislike, popular or unpopular. Lance was liked, now he is not. Lemond was wrong, now he is right. Time and place is the only thing that changes perceptions. I don't see any more proof now than before. The book Breaking the Chain is over 10 years old. Drugs is an old story and people who have common sense knew what Lance and everyone else was doing. The only reason anyone is acting on it now is because Lance is no longer popular.
Lance cost people tons of money. It's kind of comical how lots of replies don't know the whole story.
His bike mechanic had to move to New Zealand because he couldn't land a job because Lance destroyed his reputation.
Look up Filippo Simeoni and read about that.
Tip of the iceberg right there.
Lemond was never wrong.
Lots of runners who don't follow cycling.
Lance was never really liked by those who actually followed the sport of cycling. The general public liked him because they are stupid.
Let's put it this way. Lance made people a crapton more money than he lost. The dude was a huge gravy train.

I've never had to move to New Zealand because of not being a bike mechanic. This all sounds to me like a bunch of crybaby weenies making excuses.
And I've never heard of the bike mechanic.
No one would give him a job cause of Lance??????

Well, I guess that's one way of looking at it. Bernie Madoff did the same, no?
I think it's fair to say EPO made people a "crapton of money" ..... Lance was merely a conduit for that.
No chance he'll confess. He'all be hit with massive lawsuits
5 Stages said "then we will see his humanity again".
To that, may I ask-
WHICH humanity would that be? The time when he was 3 years old and offered his mom's boyfriend a bite of his lollipop?
Totally agree with Gregmacd. And rojo, who is spot on as usual in this subject matter. Whatever comes out in the near or distant future, it will certainly never be a sincere, honest, heartfelt admission. Hundreds of millions of $$$$$ at stake. Lance is still a binezzman. Always will be.

Of course he made tons of money for people benefiting from him, like Nike, Trek, Oakley, etc. You're pointing the obvious. However, that doesn't mean people lost fortune b/c of his actions. That's where people on this forum are pointing at in which you seem to not get.

If the cycling world didn't like Lance how could he keep people who earned a living in the cycling world from landing jobs? Wouldn't the opposite happen? Bike mechanic wanted Lance to fund a cycling store for him in exchange for putting air in his tires? Fund your own store you wannabe businessman loser.
And Lemond WAS wrong. In the eyes of the stupid public. Now he is right....in the eyes of the same stupid public... like i said(and clearly you didn't understand) time and place is what determines right and wrong.

For whom? Mostly for Lance.

People lose money everyday because of the actions of others, so what? We're supposed to denigrate Lance because he cost some people money but not give him credit for making all kinds of money for others (not to mention the fundraising aspects)? I would argue that regardless of cheating he has done a lot of good for the world through is money-making machinery.

So what? Then, whey are you posting on this forum? If, so what, about action of others, why are you posting about him. Why do you even care to post about him? Noone was arguing that people benefiting from him were making tons of money.
Stating about crediting him for making all kinds of money for others, Bernie Madoff did the same thing. He made tons and tons of money who were benefiting from him and kept it. He also donated millions to charity just like Lance.
CENSORSHIP
Censorship,
the suppression of expression,
happens whenever intolerant people
attempt to impose their own beliefs onto others.
Apparently the tactic for the Lance-ites who get out the message for Lance has moved from "you have no proof" to "well he made a lot of money for a lot of people".
Got to admit...good strategy.

SPIC FAILURE not understanding how sponsorships work.
Are you really dumb enough to think that a sponsor gives money without getting something in return?
All sponsors analyze the investment versus the return. If someone can make them money they keep sponsoring them. If someone can't make them money they are cast aside. That is the way the real world works.

Great point. Everyone got their money's worth using Lance.
