Same here... but, Wejo, if you want us to believe there is only one option....

As for Kim Smith a lot of PR firms do the tweeting for agents. When Ryan Hall pulled out of Chicago last year we were getting emails from the PR firm about him still being in the race.
There isn't always real time communication between PR firm, agent, and athlete.
Perfect weather for fast times 40 degrees. Almost no breeze.
http://www.weather.com/weather/today/USNY0996With the Noreaster expected later in the week I think today was a better day to do the race than next weekend.
Hardly anyone apparently cares about the pro race anyway so if no one watches it today what's the difference? May be defeatist but it is the truth.
Fake.
Kim smith @Kimsmithnz
Since the marathon was cancelled I am now off to do the Yokohama marathon
An interesting wrinkle is there are no official water stops on the course so the athletes will not get their traditional bottles.
Plus all the Poland Spring water was taken to Staten Island for Hurricane relief.
There are a few people handing out cups of water old school style.

This is arguably the best single line I have read in a while on this site. Just the hilarity behind it is classic. I can imagine Wejo laughing as he typed it.
On the first loop through the park it was difficult getting some of the joggers out of the way but now most of the park realizes there is a pro race going on.
Most people have stopped jogging and are cheering the pros on. A great day for NYC.
Are you trying to make some kind of point with this?
fvck you.

Now you're really failing. The NY Post article posted elsewhere was ranting about all the water bottles still at the finish line... while people died of thirst throughout NYC.
someone want to explain the flawless spelling and grammar?
15k was hit in 45:25 for the men
so that was 14:58 for that 5k fastest of the race. For reference Ryan Hall was 48:02at the Olympic Trials.

They might pay the price for this honest early pace on the difficult loop course.
did some employee stole wejo's LRC account and decided to entertain himself and LRC posters?
DM just tweeted about taking athletes to the airport this morning - but OK I will play along.
Give us the women's update.
I wish there were more people in the Park to see this but it doesn't get any better than this.
It is so old school. Just an old fashioned marathon.
Even the lead car isn't a cop car. It's just beeping its horn getting people out of the way.
Wejo
Just out of curiostiy, what course are they running? where was the start. I just happen to know every measured, certfied course in the park.
It can't possibly be that slow of a day for you!
Just tweeted from David Monti:
"It's a massive job to get all of the pro athletes from the race hotel to the airports today. It's a big list! pic.twitter.com/Gx7SkuTv"
Let's put this to rest.
I truly want to believe.
I spoke to one of the agents this morning and he talked about sending athletes to Japan. He made no mention of this.
Does anyone imagine that the top Kenyans, for example, would actually WASTE one like this?
Sorry I haven't been posting but I've literally been helping an elites join this thing mid-race.
After the elite meeting on Saturday, Bizunesh Deba - who lives up by VCP - husband came up to me as he wanted us to help promote a proposed marathon on the track in Westchester. I told him we needed money for a race to go on and it wouldn't happen.
But when I heard this was going off, i texted him. I guess he didn't see it until this morning as he and he was calling me to figure out where the runners are as they were late.
Deba is here but I got her on the course about 2 miles in about 30 seconds behind the leaders. So she had to work hard to catch up so in my mind it's all fair.
But she's only running 24 miles.
Some scientist will have to figure out if it's an advantage.

Sorry most of our spotters care about the men's race so they were running across the park. We're now trying to get people stationed at each main point. We'll have the 15k split in a second.
They are doing the same course as the Olympic Trials. I'm not sure the entry to the park was exactly the same but somehow the distance was. 4 loops in the park and finish at the real finish.
