As far as "a very real shot" of making it to London, all that requires is competition at trials--and all that requires, if I am not mistaken, for both Gay and Soliskrap is that they show up--which Solinskrap WILL not. If Gay has a shot and Solinskrap doesn't, that reflects simply the decisions they have made.
You realize that the 100 meter is a lot easier to run when you're not 100% than the 5,000 and 10,000, right?
I don't know where all this hatred of Solinsky comes from. He has done so much for American distance running. He was the first American to break the 27 barrier, which probably made the feat easier for someone like Rupp when he saw someone else could do it.
You have no idea what distance running is like. Sprinting requires just as much physical ability and toughness, but a different type of both.
I think you seek out threads that deal with Solinsky simply so you can bash him. That is sad. You aren't him and don't know his situation. We all know Gatlin was a drug cheat, yet you continue to build him up while you tear down a man who hasn't done anything wrong. Just because YOU want him to do something doesn't make it the best and most rational decision.
