Male Rookies of the Week
"...This award would have been real easy to award if Mount SAC’s results crew was in charge as that outfit somehow had Columbia freshman Nate Brennand breaking the League’s all-time 1,500m record with a 3:36 finish. But, alas, Brennand was not in California at the time. Kinda hard to explain."

Most people wouldn't consider those to be two separate races.Sure, there's a lot of overlap between great 1500 runners and great milers -- e.g. that's why El G holds both world records. But that extra 109 meters can make a difference, favoring more strength-oriented runners. For instance, why does Webb hold the AR for the mile but not the 1500? And Roger Bannister held the WR for the mile, but not the 1500. The point is, despite the similarities between the two races, it's still a tough double, and you should respect that.
Please don't be a troll...I need a lift to my day, and your sheer stupidity is helping greatly.
Is Hold the Phone a troll? or stupid?
What do you mean the 1500 and mile were the same race? Isn't this whole thread about how Brennard was only in the mile.
This reminds me, I just saw Johnny English.
Rowan Atkinson's character voices shocking realization: "there's a vole at MI5!"
partner corrects him: "No, it's a mole sir, a mole!"
Rowan Atkinson, eyes widening and in shock: "There's a mole AND a VOLE!?!"
It was a mile race, they were just given 1500m splits. Why else would the same 12 run both the 1500m and the mile?
Did somebody say "UGH???"
This is the stuff that keeps me coming back to LR day after day ... too funny.

Oh God, not a third thing that GF can stand for!
I laughed out loud on this one! (sure wish there was a faster way to write that)
Where's the 430 miler when you need him?

I just don't see how you consider this to be a "double." The guy simply ran a mile race and had his split taken at the 1500m mark. You're acting like he ran a 1500m and then a mile race. He ran a 1500m en route to a mile. That's not really doubling by any definition.
Dear God "It's all one race" I pray that you are a troll and are not actually that stupid. That being the case...
I'd like to report this troll on troll crime. Over 90% of troll on troll crime goes unreported. If you see troll on troll crime occurring in your thread, never be afraid to speak up.

Now you're going to try to tell me that it was an "impressive double," too?
Rumors have it both nates got their post race window in the form of jello shots! then a night of rest before Sunday Funday!
I DRIVE A DODGE STRATUS!
how is it not an impressive double??? to go run a 3:36 then come back in the mile to take third in 3:54 is fantastic in general and makes it even mor impressive because its still april. just think what kind of times will be run assuming a peak for the games is being used.
this reminds me of galen rupps fantatsic double at the brussels meet this past summer. after having run the 5k in about 13:25, he came back in the 10k to rip an AR of 26:48 and take third. just imagine what kind of time he'll be able to run when he does a fast 10k fresh!

You're talking about a different runner than they are. Anyway, could you provide a link to the results of this 1500m race?
they actually shut down the finish line on this one fella. Clearly you can't kick down like Brennand can.

@weichman jello shots were had and enjoyed by all. I heard their Sunday Funday was somewhat less than satisfying after they were ambushed at the gay karaoke bar "Suite" by a stripper/Red Lobster hostess/tightrope walker named Nolan who proceeded to cause a scene, claiming that Nate (which one? I'm not telling..) had left her high and dry at a Pepperdine frat banger on Thirsty Thursday! ugh.
I think you guys are a little confused - Brennand ran the 1500. His brother Brad runs the 800.
