Funny you should say that. I was thinking a similar thing during last night's game. Lin un-guardable off the dribble just like Jose Juan Juan.
Smooth dribblers like Lin and Nash and Stephen Curry prosper in the NBA. I see a little Brandon Roy in young Jeremy too.
it's a new night, Saturday night vs Minnesotia.... first quarter 9 pts!
I have been psyched about Lin's incredible breakout, because I was a big fan of his since he schooled John Wall in Summer League, prior to getting no chance at GS, Houston, and NY. But I checked his stats a few days before his huge first game off the bench out of D League (where he had a triple double) and they were great, if you looked at them per 48 minutes. No one else noticed how good they were because they were looking at raw averages in very limited pt. My two ignored posts here after the 25pt game:

kyrie irving and then ricky rubio look to be far and away the best rookies. irving may be a star and rubio makes minnesota a potential playoff team. Among surprising players, Greg Monroe, c of Detroit, has been very strong, probably the most improved in the league. B.J. Mullens of Charlotte has also been much improved. NJ's been awful. NYK underachieving big time. I was looking at former Harvard pg Jeremy Lin's #'s/48 minutes a few days ago and they were incredible. I could not figure out why NBA coaches were not playing him. After all, in his first summer league game out of college, he schooled John Wall, the #1 pick in that draft. Well, finally Mike D'Antonio of the Knicks played him, and Lin had something crazy like 25 pts, 7 rebounds and 5 assists. It will be interesting to see if he gets an extended opportunity. Another interesting story is Sacramento's 2nd year center DeMarcus Cousins. Early on he was in Westhead's doghouse and on the trading block, but he responded very well and has probably been Sacto's best player, with Tyreke Evans only rarely playing up to his potential. Jimmer has had only a few strong nights, but recently scored 21 in a game.

Cousins with 28pts/19rebs tonight, and Jeremy Lin making me look good with 28pts/8 assists in his first career start, leading the Knicks to a victory without Amare and Melo.
Lin shot just 8/24 tonight but led NY to the narrow come from behind win 100/98 over minn with 20/8/6 (6 to's). Rubio also shot .33.
Someone to watch on the other side, aside from Kevin Love (32/21 tonight!), was the big center 6'11" 290 lb Nikola Pekovic, who had 21/13 on 9/10 shooting. He is under the radar but is averaging 10/5.8 on .613 pct shooting in just 20 minutes per game. So, you give the big man 40 min per game and maybe he is really a 20/11 guy with that tremendous shooting percentage. If he can stay out of foul trouble, watch out.
Is he a thrower? Or a multi event guy? Because I've never heard of him. This is a running message board right?
