Chris McDougall NEVER called the Tarahumara "savages". The Tarahumara truly are a respectable tribe, and learning from them is valuable! He never tried to exploit them or make money off of them. Yes, he made money off his book, but he never made money off the Tarahumara themselves. And compared to what people like Rick Fischer did to them, McDougall should be commended. Born to Run is an entertaining story mixed with valuable training advice, not some attempt to make millions and exploit native tribes. McDougall is just like us; he's a runner trying to share what he knows. He hasn't meant or brought any harm to the Tarahumara.
