See the article/thread on Jimmy Grabow to learn about a normal, healthy individual. Moreover, Grabow actually has talent so it's not as if he's delusionally chasing some never to be attained goal like Rupert Pupkin.

There is now way he writes that blog. Does this runner even exist or is it some made up fantasy story? If he does exist he is ironically living in a fantasy world, far away from humanity. Is he from another planet? I am also reporting to New Balance that he breeches conventional contractual obligations. Posing in a picture with Nike shoes in particular. I lived a running life similar to the one he describes, but I was running far less and slower than those made up?? times (or made up person??) I hit the bong every week and chewed tobacco while washing it down with stout and scotch and other various wines. Then I proceeded to call whatever lady on my 'hoes' list I desired to call it an evening. From the nature of the blog, this "runner" does that kind of stuff very often, with perhaps the exception of buying a car that's well over his budget, which I tended to do often.
I HAVE THE WEIRDEST ERECTION RIGHT NOW.
Watson has to try it out and see how it goes. That mileage may work for him. I'm pulling for him because his blog is awesome, he relates to the average man, runs a hell of a lot faster than most people, and most importantly, is struggling every day to have a soul, despite the fact that he's canadian. Good luck.
I'm with you on the Canadian soul struggle thing. Keep fighting the good fight Watson.
Go Speed river track club!

Let's hear an anonymous anecdote.

To be fair, I wouldn't say the guy's slow. Ok, I had to search him. I live in the UK so don't know many of the US runners. But I checked out his times:
3000m Steeplechase 8:27
5000m 13:40
Marathon 2:16:17
Mo ran 13:26 to win the WC's. So the guy's not miles off.
Anyway, that's aside from the point that I do agree that 180+ miles p.wk is not helpful.
i totally totally agree. those 180+ mpw are just dumb. i mean, he only ran 2:13 with all those miles. if he got quality mileage in, he woulda ran 100x faster. like maybe a 2:08 or 2:09. that mileage is holding him back sooo hard. am i right?

No, you're wrong
simple - all he needs to do is run 100 miles per week at 4.40 per mile and he will run 2h02 for the marathon. Why doesn't anyone get that?!
I was there. Rob was pulling away from him on the downhills

I imagine a 12 year old behind the keyboard. 'NO! your wrong!" clearly this guy is getting results from doing what's working for him (high mileage)
3 weeks out from Fukuoka. It's a Sunday long run and the wind is out of the west at 22 mph.
Is 20 miles @ 4:55 with the wind at your back going to help you or hurt you?
