She was a work horse for her high school team. Basically single handedly winning their sectional meet.

A few thoughts; firstly, it's rude and disrespectful to say "foreign" when referring to "international" runners. Foreign has and always will have a negative connotation. Secondly, for many international runners, coming to America on scholarship is the biggest opportunity of their life, and yes, many do indeed avail of the educational opportunity to the fullest degree. I am just one of many such runners who would not have had any career opportunities had I stayed in my home country which was in a dreadful recession when I graduated secondary school. As one of 9 children, my parents couldn't afford a semester of college, let alone a full degree. Because of this one opportunity, I got my degree, am still running, and more importantly,I am contributing through my career as a techer to the lives of American adolescents. I use my experience to show them that no matter how poor you grow up, if you work hard, you really can achieve great things, by seizing opportunities that come your way.
So stop disrespecting international runners, and be glad for the interest factor they add to college running. Let's face it, the NCAA's would be rather boring if we excluded "foreign" runners.
And yes, I do have an American born child whom I'm loving watch race in college.
[B My guess is that by season's end LV will have taken back the top spot with Lutz #2. But that's obviously just a guess.
I guess someone forgot to tell you there was a race in Wisconsin this past Friday and Lukas V came in 66th place!
It is pretty clear Lukas has a huge learning, and training, curve to ascend before he is considered a potential top 30 runner in NCAA Div. I. Based on his collapse at Wisconsin, it is unlikely he will be a factor in the finals this year.

Yeah, someone forgot to tell me...because I was at the race. Saw it up close and personal unlike couch potatoes like yourself.
Looks to me like LV will have taken back the top spot with Lutz #2 in spite of the oh so clever comments by folks like you.
Used to run with Shaylyn in high school, she's the nicest girl and we couldn't be happier for her up here! She's the real deal and comes from a good running family, had a uncle be an All-American when he ran at U of R (I think?) and her cousin is a national contender. She comes from a very talented family and I've got no doubt she'll be an even stronger contender come November <3 you shay
