Here's some quick mindless drivel for you to peruse. Sorry I can't communicate better, it's a huge flaw of mine....
I just can't wrap my head around the basis of religion, specifically Christianity. Sometimes I wish someone could break it down for me in a logical way so I could believe it and maybe things would be better for me. It is all just way too fantastic to me.
To answer your concern over the "hate" you feel from athiests, I'll give you my point of view. I get frustrated when people look down on me for being athiest so I am very defensive about my beliefs. 99/100 times I won't tell people I'm an athiest just so they won't think less of me. And I am fully aware of the fact that many religious people think poorly about athiests because I hear the disscusion between religious people when they talk about athiests. I don't think I'm far off, or that my opinion is too slanted because I have lived around the country for the past 15 years and have interacted with a wide spectrum of people in many different environments. Because people don't know I am an athiest they will speak about "non-belivers" in a very negative way right in front of me. Here are common themes from these interactions: Athiest=satan worshipper, communist, un-American, unfit, weak-minded, anarchist, trouble maker, lazy, stupid. Additionally, they should not have children and are invariably leading their children down a path that will make their lives fruitless and draining to the overall health of society.
I think the last opinion bothers me the most because I have 2 children and raise them in an open, honest and loving environment. I am by no means perfect when it comes to parenting, but I feel that my children will grow up satisfied knowing that their parents love them unconditionally.
PS I don't care about Hall being in the magazine, those issues have always been kind of strange to me anyway.
