I think Milne might have the slowest PR of the group...certainly of the leaders, and he did all the work that race and is probably the only reason it was under 3:40.

That race was disappointing. All those super fast guys, all that talent and they still did the ol' sit and kick up until the last 150 meters. I hate those kind of races. Winning time should have been at least 3:34-35 with most under 3:40.
Really wanted Milne to win it. He was the only one who actually went after it.

Difference between 1st and 7th was only like 6/10 of a second. These guys weren't trying to run fast, they were racing. Stupid. When A standards are on the line you RUN FAST, not sit around and kick the last 50 meters...retarded.
Somewhere in eternity Pre just puked on his singlet watching that "race." Milne was the ONLY guy running his heart out. Good for him.
cheers for the vid, anyone have splits? how far did willis go? Surely wheating could pretty much TT the A standard if he wanted to.
Also what is up with Matt Tegenkamp..?? not a good sign for a 3.34 man about to defend his 2 mile AR.
It shouldn't be surprising if you try to have a time trial and a race breaks out when you have the top 3 milers in the country (not counting Lagat) in the field.
Based on Manzano's performance, he'll run 3:49 for the mile at PRE, then out the back in New York, then top 3 at USAs...
I love the fact that flotrack covers the women's cool-down!
Full Race is up if you missed the webcast! http://www.runnerspace.com/video.php?video_id=46486-Mens-1500-A-Section-Live-Webcast-Replay-Oxy-High-Performance-Meet-2011
No wonder nobody got the standard, the atmosphere there would put me asleep!

That's not the kind of consistency I want to see out of one of America's 1500 qualifiers. Yes some people have bad races, but a bad race for one of America's best should never be outside the top 3 in a primarily American race.
Wheating, Manzano, and Lomong set a low bar for Webb. Alan may be back in the #1 US slot in a week.
PB for Kyle Miller at least? I'm not familiar with him - did he run at Texas a couple years ago?
PB for Symmonds I'm quite sure.
pretty sure that was milne in 2nd, not miller. perhaps they switched their hip numbers?
oh canada. wrote:

Nope...That was definitely Miller.
what is wrong with you people? It was a great field, and they produced a race that was exciting and entertaining. Instead, you're complaining about the time, and how they used sit and kick tactics. It's a race. You race to win.
